At the request of William Morris, the following Release of Dower was recorded November 27, 1799
CC to wit; on November 27, 1799, came before the subscriber one of the associate justices of CC court, Elizabeth Hanson wife to Samuel Hanson of the State of Virginia and acknowledged her right of dower in and to a tract of land called "Greenland" which was sold by her husband to William Morris on November 17, 1795. At the request of Henry Massey Hanson, the following Release of Dower was recorded November 28, 1799
CC to wit; on November 27, 1799 came Elizabeth Hanson wife to the within named Samuel Hanson before the subscriber one of the associate justices of CC court, and acknowledged her right of dower in and to the land by the within instrument of writing conveyed to Henry Massey Hanson.
CC Sct. Whereas it was the intention of the within contract between Henry M. Hanson and myself that the lines therein described should include all that part of a tract of land called "Greenland" lying on the south side of the main road leading from Port Tobacco to the Old Bridges except that part of the said tract which I have since sold to William Morris and excepting that part known by the name of the "Powder Mill Lot" and it is now supposed that the said lines will not include the said land, now in that case be it known that in pursuance of the intention of the said within contract I do hereby transfer make over and convey to the said Henry M. Hanson forever all that part of the said tract of land called "Greenland" lying on the south side of the main road leading from Portobacco to the Old Bridges except that part of the said tract which I have sold to William Morriss and all that part known by the name of the "Powder Mill Lot".
