TO ALL TO WHOM I Sr. WM. BERKELY Knight Governour & Capt. General! of Virginia send greeting. Whereas &c. Now know ye that I the said WM. BERKELY Knight do with the consent of the Counsel! of State grant unto JOHN BARROW seven hundred thirty seven acres & one hundred forty four perches of land lying in the freshes of RAPPA. RIVER on the So. side of OCCUPACON CREEK beginning (missing) end of the land of Mr. WM. HALL & (missing) to a marked pocickery thence S. near (missing) to a marked Gum to a (missing)nd of AUGUSTINE BLITHENBIRD & lastly N. W. by W (missing) end of LAWSONS ISLAND to the place where it first (missing) being due to the said JOHN BARROW as foll Vizt. five hundred acres & (missing) thereof formerly granted to the said BARROW by Pattent dated (missing) & two hundred acres & one hundred forty perches residue by and for the transportation of five persons into this Colony and now joyned together by order of the Governour & Councell bearing date with these presents to have and to hold &c paying &c Provided &c given at JAMES CITY under our hands the 23 day of March 1659

I the Within specified JOHN BARROW do by virtue of these presents sett over unto JOHN JOHNSON of Rappahanock to his heirs or assignes all the land within menconed in this Pattent & all the priviledges belonging thereto & all my right & title thereof & also for me my heirs deliver and maintain unto the aforesaid JOHN JOHNSON to his heirs &assignes for him quietly to enjoy for ever all that seven hundred thirty & seven acres and one hundred forty & five perches of land which is butted & bounded as and within this Pattent is menconed for him and them to enjoy the same without any molestation from myself & all other manner of person whatsoever. In Witness I have sett my hand this 23 day of January 1661

Wife of JOHN BARROW of the County of Rappa. do acknowledge to have reced full satisfacon of Mr. JOHN JOHNSON the same being according to demand 20 s Sterl being for & in full consideracon of my right as to my Dower or thirds in a parcell of land sould by my Husband JOHN BARROW unto Mr. JOHN JOHNSON the Patt. being eight hundred acres or thereabouts lying in the same County abovesaid & now in the possession of said Mr. JOHN JOHNSON moreover I desire Mr. ALEX FLEMING to acknowledge the same in my behalf in the Court held for the County aforesaid & I do hereby allow of the same by this my hand & seal dated the 1th 7ber 1662

TO ALL XPIAN PEOPLE to whom this present Instrument of Writing shall come HENRY THACKER of the County of Rappa: in Virginia, Plantr., and MATILDA his Wife for divers good causes and a valuable consideration them their unto moving and more especially for Foure thouand Five hundred pounds of Tobo: in caske payable as pr Contract and pr Bond will appeare of the same tenure and date, also two able English men Servants to be paid according to the Contract or Bond as aforesd. by JOHN POWELL and JOHN BATTAILE of Rappa. County and St. Marys Parish aforesd, by these presents grant unto the said JOHN POWELL and JOHN BATTAILE of the aforesd County their heires Six hundred acers of land lying on the Freshes of Rappa: River betwixt the lands of Mr. HENRY JOHNSON and the lands of Mr. JOHN HOPKINS being a tract of land bought of JOHN PROSSER as by Bill of Sale will appeare upon the records of the aforesd. County, To have and to hold the sd Six hundred acers of land from them the sd HENRY THACKER and MATILDA his Wife their heires to them the sd JOHN POWELL and JOHN BATTAILE their heires forever yeilding and paying and discharging the rights and services hereof first due and of right accustomed and the said HENRY THACKER and MATILDA his Wife for themselves doth hereby promise that they the said JOHN POWELL and JOHN BATTAILE may have and enjoy the aforesaid premisses without hindrance incumbrance or ejection of the sd HENRY THACKER or MATILDA his Wife or any other persons claiming and Furthermore for themselves their heires grant to give and make such assurances of the pre misses thereof to the said JOHN POWELL and JOHN BATTAILE as they devise and advise In Witness whereof the sd HENRY THACKER and MATILDA his Wife have sett their hands and seales this 2 of November 1686 and in the second yeare of the Reigne of our Sovereigne Lord King James the second Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of us

all demands at some convenient place or landing in the aforesd. County or Parish in Confirmacion whereof 1 have sett my hand & seale this 25th of November 1686
The Condicon of this obligation is if the above hound HENRY THACKER and MATILDA his Wife do observe all the covinants which ought to be observed in an Indenture bearing date with these presents that then the above mencioned to be void and of noe

THIS INDENTURE made this 9th day of March 1723 Between FRANCIS GOULDMAN of Parish of St. Anne in County of Essex of one part & ROBERT JONES of sd Parish & County Witnesseth that ye said Francis Gouldman for sum of One hundred pounds Sterling money to him paid by these presents doth grant unto said Robert Jones his heirs all that plantation & tract of land whereon FRANCIS GOULDMAN deced lately dwell'd containing four hundred acres bounded Beginning at a white oak by the CHURCH ROAD on the South side thereof & in ye South line of a pattent granted to JOHN JOHNSON deced bearing date the tenth day of December 1663 for Seven hundred & thirty seven acres and one hundred and forty five perches of land thence to the end of the sd Line to a marked Gum thence East to a marked red oak nigh the land of AUGUSTINE BRETHENBIRD & to Rappa. River thence up the said River to Occupation Creek thence up the sd Creek to the land of SALVATOR MUSCOE thence along the several courses of sd Muscoes land to the Church Road aforesd & thence up the said Road to the Beginning ... .
