      The account of Walter Clements and John Sanders, executors of Jane Clements, late of CC, decd, viz - Debts: the inventory of sd decd's estate, exhibited into the Prerogative office on Feb 14, 1777, in all, 421 £5 shillings 2 pence; tobacco left by the decd unstrapped, inspected in 1776. The whole amount: 453 £13 shillings 10 pence.
      Disbursements went to Jameson Johnson and Co, Doctor Joseph Adderton, Doctor Gusta Brown, Sheriff William Hanson for levies, a legacy left by the decd to the Poor of Portobacco Parish, Deputy Commissary's fees paid Daniel Jenifer, Com Generals fees paid William Fitzhugh Esq, fees paid Walter Hanson as Register, afd Walter Clements. Balance to be disposed of according to the decd's will - 420 £12 shillings 2 pence.
      Final Account: 453 £13 shillings 10 pence.

      I, John Heard of CC, am perfectly sound of mind, memory, and understanding, but low in body.
      To my daughter Ann Heard - a Negro man named Clem and a Negro girl called Hannah and her increase; also a horse, saddle, & bridle.
      To my daughter Helen Heard - a Negro man named Lawrance and a Negro girl named Mary and her increase; also a horse, saddle, and bridle.
      To my son Joseph Heard - a Negro boy named James and a girl named Peg, daughter to Terry, and her increase; also a horse, saddle, & bridle.

But if my daughters Ann and Helen should die before Edward comes to age, then Edward should be under the care of my two sons, George and John Heard.

      1756-1761 Charles County, Maryland Land Records; Liber G#3 [TLC]; Page 174, Lease, Feb 20, 1758 from John Pye of CC, to Walter Clements, the lease of a tract of 106 acres of land called Pyes Rest, bounded by the bank of Potomack River, a Huckleberry branch, the Sycamore Botoms. This lease is for the natural life of Walter Clements and for the natural life of his son, Walter Clements. The rent is 1000 lbs of good, sound, merchantable, pricked, culled, leaf tobacco in 1 hogshead, to he paid each May 1 beginning in 1759, and also, 2 bushels of good, well-cleaned wheat to be paid each Sep 1 & 1 fat turkey at Christmas and 6 fat chickens at mid summer, payment to begin in 1759. within 5 years, Walter Clements shall plant 200 apple trees on sd premises, of good winter fruit. Clements will leave the premises in tenantable condition. Clements shall not cut down timber or sell any timber or wood off sd premises, or cut down wood or timber in a wasteful manner further than to clear the land for planting or any other use for the plantation. If more timber is cut down than is needed, Pye may enter the premises and carry it away. Pye may cut down any white oak timber that may be proper to saw into plank or to convert it into heading pipe hogsheads or barrels, staves, or any plank, warnutt, or crooked ship timber which shall be at any time to be standing or growing on sd premises, having always sufficient timber for the use of sd plantation. Clements agrees that 5 acres in one corner of sd premises shall be left uncut of the timber thereon. Clements shall assist in his proportionable part towards the preserving and keeping up the Neck Fence so as to keep other people's creatures out of the inclosure, Walter Clements or his son Walter shall not assign over to any other tenant sd lease unless leave is first had of sd Pye, Signed - Lino Pye.
