      KNOW ALL MEN that wee JOHN ALLAWAY and DOROTHY ALLAWAY of the County of Rappa, and Parrish of Farnham in Virginia for a valuable consideration by us received from JOHN YATES of the same County and Parish do sell unto said JOHN YATES his heirs and assignes forever one parcell of land containing One hundred acres or thereabouts being in the abovesaid County and Parish and part of a Devident of land bought by the said ALLAWAY of Capt. JOHN HULL the sd land lying between two branches the one known by the name of the WATHIA ANEQUE Branch the other EDWARD LEWIS his Branch and extending from the heads of the same Branches by a line of marked trees running from the head of the aforementioned to the head of the other To have and to hold the land with every the proffitts belonging to him the said JOHN YATES his heirs and assignes forever more he the said YATES discharging the rents and services due to our Sovereign Lord the King and I the said JOHN ALLAWAY doe engage that the sd YATES shall at all times hereafter occupy the same without the hindrance of me my heirs or assignes In Confirmation we have sett our hands and seals this 20th day of July 1672

      TO ALL XPIAN PEOPLE to whom this present writing shall come, I JOHN ALLOWAY of the Parish of NORTH FARNHAM and County of Richmond send greeting.
      KNOW YE that I the said JOHN ALLOWAY as well for the natural affection and Fatherly Love which I have and bear unto my well beloved Daughter, PRISCILLA TILLERY, now Wife of THOMAS TILLERY, of the County and Parish aforesaid as also for divers other good consideration have given and granted unto the said PRISCILLA TILLERY and to the heirs of her body lawfully begotten one parcell of Land be it more or less being part of the Devident of Land I now live on and commonly known or called by the name of THE INDIAN TOWN and beginning on TOTUSKEY CREEK side at the Mouth of a Branch commonly known or called by the name of the FLAX PATCH BRANCH, running up the said Branch to a marked Gum, thence over the COUNTY ROAD about two or three chains to a marked red Oak sapling, thence down along the ROAD by a line of marked trees to the corner tree of JOHN HOWELL, thence down a Branch to a line of EDWARD LEWIS, and thence along that line to the land I formerly sold JOHN YEATS, and bounding on the said land according to its several courses to the head of MATCHYCOMICOE BRANCH thence down the said Branch to the Creek and from thence down the Creek to the place where it first began with all houses and buildings orchards gardens and all the profitts belonging, To have and to hold unto the said PRISCILLA TILLERY and the heirs of her body lawfully begotten or to be begotten subject nevertheless to the Rents and services whih shall from henceforth grow due for the hereby granted premisses unto the Cheif Lord or Proprietors thereof, And I the said JOHN ALLAWAY my heirs the said parcell of Land with appurtinances belonging unto the said PRISCILLA TILLERY and the heirs of her body will warrant & defend against all persons claiming and further know ye that I the said JOHN ALLAWAY at the signing and ensealing of these presents have put the said PRISCILLA TILLERY in peaceable and quiet possession of all the premisses.       THIS INDENTURE made the (blank) day of February Ano; Dom: 1696 Between JOHN ALLAWAY & DOROTHY his Wife of County of Richmond and Parish of NORTHFARNHAM of the one part and JOHN MORGAN of the same County and Parish aforesaid, Blacksmith, of other part. Witnesseth that the aforesaid JOHN ALLAWAY and DOROTHY his Wife as well for a consideration of One thousand pounds of tobacco by the said JOHN MORGAN paid or secured to be paid unto the said JOHN ALLAWAY &c., which is by him acknowledged as also for the other consideration hereafter mentioned, that is, the natural Love and affection I have & bear unto the said JOHN MORGAN, hath granted unto the said JOHN MORGAN his heirs and assigns one parcell of Land containing Fifty acres or thereabouts being in the aforesaid County and Parish and on the South side of TOTUSKEY CREEK and part of a greater Devident of Land bought by me the said JOHN ALLOWAY of Capt. JOHN HULL, the said Land by these presents granted being on the North East side of the Swamp commonly known & called by the name of EDWARD LEWIS his SWAMP and beginning at a white Oak in or near the Mouth of formerly JOHN YATES SPRING BRANCH, thence North East to a red Oak corner tree of said ALLOWAY in the Line of EDWARD LEWIS, from thence by and alongst the line of said LEWIS to TOTUSKEY CREEK, thence down and alongst the Creek to a Gutt that makes the Mouth of the said SWAMP, then up and alongst the said SWAMP to a white Oak the first station and likewise all other the profitts & appurtinances thereunto belonging as also all the right and demand of the said JOHN ALLAWAY to all the land and premisses -which he hath or may have on the Northeast side of the sd EDWARD LEWIS SWAMP by virtue of a Deed of Sale or Grant of the said Capt. JOHN HULL, To have and to hold the abovesaid Fifty acres of Land be it more or less with all and every the priviledges and profitts thereunto belonging to him the said JOHN MORGAN his heirs and assigns for evermore, subject the Chief Lards yr nevertheless in consideration aforesaid the said Land with all the appurtinances unto the said JOHN MORGAN his heirs and assigns will warrant and defend against all persons pretending to claim the same forever.       TO ALL CHRISTIAN PEOPLE to whome these pr:sents shall come, JOHN ALLOWAY of the Parish of NORTH FARNHAM in the County of Richmond, Planter, mid Greeting. Know yee that I the said JOHN ALLOWAY as well for and in consideration of the naturall affection and fatherly love which I have and beare unto my Son, GABRIEL ALLOWAY, and ELIZABETH his Wife as also for divers other good causes me att this time especially moveing, have granted unto the said GABRIEL ALLOWAY and ELIZABETH his Wife, theirs heires and assignes forever, the one moyetie or halfe of the Devident of Land I now live on commonly known or called by the name of the INDIAN TOWNE and scituate lying and being on ye South side of TOTUSKEY CREEKE and by the FERRY, and begining att ye lower end of the said INDIAN TOWNE and running upwards betweene the MILL CREEKE and ye BEVER DAMMs but not to come into the Plantation where I am now seated, which said Land I do give and confirms and by these pr:sents give unto the said GABRIEL ALLOWAY and ELIZABETH his Wife their heires or assignes, the abovesaid moyetie or halfe of my Devident of Land and also all the profitts & appurtenances as also all the right and demand of me the said JOHN ALLOWAY to the said Land and pr:misses which I the said JOHN ALLOWAY hath or may have by virtue of any Patent grant or otherwise except & alwayes reserved unto me the said JOHN ALLOWAY the Plantacon.
