      TO ALL XPIAN PEOPLE unto whom this present writing shall come, I JOHN WAUGH in the Colony of Virginia, Clerk, send greeting in our Lord God everlasting this 27th day of February 1691. Now know yee that I the sd. JOHN WAUGH for the sum of Nine thousand pounds of merchantable tobb: in caske in hand payed have sold unto WM. FITZHUGH his heirs & assigns forever all these two parcells of land being in RAPPAHANNOCK County in the Freshes thereof being part of a Patent of Two thousand acres of land granted to Colnl. JOHN CATLETT dated the 2d of June 1666 & by severall means purchased now in my possession being the lowermost part thereof being designed for DANLL. MERIOTT contayning Three hundred acres & the lowermost thereof Beginning at a marked Beech by Rappa: River side, being the first menconed bound and beginning the sd Grand Patent & extending by a line of marked trees East North East into the woods to a white Oake corner tree, from thence W: S: W: by a line of marked trees to a marked red Oake standing by the River side & finally down the River to the first menconed Beech: The other hundred acres designed for JOHN CORBIN adjoyning to this hundred as followeth (Vitz) Beginning at a red Oake by the River side being the uppermost corner tree of DANLL. MERIOTTs 300 acres & running into the woods alonge the sd MERIOTTs line E. N. .E. to a white Oake corner tree of the said MERRIOTTs. from thence by a line of marked trees to a marked Gum standing by Rappa: River to the first beginning with all rights appertaining; To have & to hold the sd Devidents or tracts of land wth: all the appurtenances unto the sd WILLIAM FITZHUGH his heirs & assigns forever In Witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand & affixed my seale the day and year above written
