      THIS INDENTURE made the fifth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty nine Between JAMES WILLIAMS and ELEANOR his Wife of County of Culpeper of one part and BILLINGTON McCARTY of the same County of other part; Witnesseth that JAMES WILLIAMS and ELEANOR his Wife in consideration of the Rents and Covenants herein after mentioned by these presents doth demise and to farm lett unto BILLINGTON McCARTY all that lot of land, Number Thirteen, lying in County of Culpeper, being part of a tract of land granted to ROBERT GREEN deceased, from the Proprietor and by him devised to his Son, MOSES GREEN, now deceased, by his last Will and Testament now of Record in the County Court of ORANGE, and bounded, Beginning at three Dogwoods at the mouth of TURKEY RUN on THORNTONS RIVER, thence South seventy six West one hundred and fifty pole to a white Oak Hickory and Pine, thence South one hundred pole to a red Oak and Hickory in the line of No. Nine, thence East eighty seven pole to a Walnut corner to No. Nine on THORNTONS RIVER thence down the River to the beginning; containing One hundred and Thirty acres; To have and to hold the lot of land to BILLINGTON McCARTY his heirs during the full term of the natural life of BILLINGTON McCARTY renewable upon paying double rent for one year to commence from the first day of November 1788, said McCARTY his heirs paying JAMES WILLIAMS and ELEANOR his Wife their heirs the yearly rent of Six hundred and Sixty pounds of tobacco of the Inspection of FREDERICKSBURG or FALMOUTH; and BILLINGTON McCARTY his heirs will with all expedition raise and plant an Orchard of Sixty four Apple trees; In Witness whereof the said parties to these presents have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written
