      Nephew (and Godson): John Thomas of Kentucky, a negro woman named Rose and her four children named Lewis (age 9), Henry (age 7). Joe (age 5). and Sarah (age 1 1/2) until they arrive at the age of 23 at which time Rose's children are to be free. He is to also have $100 current money in lieu of a negro man named Jim whom I wanted to give him but have not because of Jim's unwillingness to go to Kentucky. Jim is to reside on my dwelling plantation for the use of the proprietor for the time being.
      Wife: Mary Abell. the balance of my estate during her life.
      Nephew: John Thompson (of Thomas), my now dwelling plantation after the death of my wife. If he dies without heirs, it is devised to his sister. Elizabeth Thompson.
      Niece: Elizabeth Thompson, a house and home during her single life on my now dwelling plantation and $100 which is to be paid to her by her brother. John Thompson. upon his occupation of my dwelling plantation.
      To: Mary Norris. daughter of William Heard (of Mark), a bed and furniture after the death of my wife.
      Niece and Nephew: John Thompson and Elizabeth Thompson, all of my household furniture: stock: and plantation utensils (except my cart wheels) equally divided between them.
      Nephew: John Thompson. my cart wheels.
      At the death of my wife. my negro named Jerry is to be free. The negroes named Peter. Matthew. and Mary are to serve my niece and nephew for three years and are to then be free. My negroes named Sam and Ann (Poll's children), are to serve my niece. Elizabeth Thompson. after my wife's death until they arrive at the age of 23 and are then to be free.
      Any money I have or is due to me at the time of my death is bequeathed to my wife. as well as any balance of my estate not before willed.

      Wife: Mary Norris, during her natural life provided she continues a widow, part of "Wheatley's Content", 82 acres; part of another tract called "Wheatley's Content", 13 acres; and one tract called "Norris' Purchase", 57 acres. At her decease to my sons, William Norris, Philip Norris. and Joseph Norris. equally divided.
      Wife: Mary Norris, residue of estate real and personal during her life as long as she remains a widow.
