      6 May 1748: I James Hackley...Loving son John land in Essex County...equal share of my land in Prince William with my other five sons...loving sons Joseph, Lott, Richard, James & Francis all my land in Prince William County...my Loving wife Elizabeth have the use & advantage of all my labouring Negroes Captain, Dinah, & Pender during her natural life and after her decease them and all the rest of my Negro's to be equally divided...wife have the use of my stock of Hogs, Cattle, Sheep upon both my plantations...horses and mares...as to the Ready Cash which I have by me with which I intended to buy two young Negro boys, I desire it may be put to the same use by my executors & executrix...2 November 1741.       In the Name of God Amen. I Samuel REEDS of King George County being sick and weak but of perfect sense and memory thanks to mighty God for the same, hoping to have a joy full resurrection my desire is to be buried in a Christian manner by my executors hereafter names, as touching my worldly estate that it hath pleased Almighty God to Bless me with do leave as followeth, vix
      Item: I give to my loving son Samuel Reeds my young horse called Spark and my saddle and bridle.
      Item My desire is such that my loving wife Gale (Jael) Reed is to keep all the rest of my estate in her hands during her natural life, then to be equally divided amongst my three children, Samuel reeds, Gale Reeds, and Mildred Reeds, my desire is that my loving son in law William Underwood and my wife Jale Executors of this my last will and Testament revoking all other wills by me made.
      My desire is that my estate shall not be appraised. As witness my hand this 4th day of November 1749. Sam REEDS

      The Last Will and Testament of Samuel Reeds, deceased was presented in to court by William Underwood, his Executor, who made oath thereto and the same was proved by the oaths of Josiah Farguson and Elias Powell and admitted to record.

      Indenture made 29th April 1760 between JOHN HACKLEY Executor of the last will and testament of ELIZABETH HACKLEY deced of one part and JOHN CURTIS .. whereas Elizabeth Hackley was in her life time and at time of her death possessed of a certain parcel of land whereon PHILIP ROBINSON
      then dwelt in county King George containing 150 acres made her last will and testament in writing by her duly published bearing date 28th September 1755 did devise: "It is my will that my land whereon Philip Robinson now lives be sold and money put to interest for the use of my three grandchildren (that is) JAMES HACKLEY. JOSEPH HACKLEY and ANNE HACKLEY the sons and daughter of my son Joseph Hackley deceased
      She appointed JOHN HACKLEY her son party to these presents Executor .. soon after making her wiII ELIZABETH HACKLEY departed this life without revoking the same .. John Hackley exposed to Publick Sale the above tract for which JOHN CURTIS party to these presents being highest bidder
      having offer'd sum Forty pounds currt. money of Virginia . Now This Indenture Witnesseth that for sum Forty pounds John Hackley sold John Curtis the right of said Elizabeth Hackley deceased to the said parcel of land above described
