George the Third to ROWLAND THOMAS & WILLIAM MOORE Gent Whereas Catlett Conway and Susanna his Wife of County of Orange have sold unto George Anderson land in County of Culpeper and Whereas said Susanna cannot conveniently travel to our County Court to make acknowledgement of the same we do therefore give you power to receive the acknowledgement which the said Susanna shall be willing to make and when you have received her acknowledgement that you Certifie us thereof Witness JOHN JAMESON Clerk of our Court at the Courthouse the 19 day of June in the Fifteenth year of our Reign.
By virtue of the said Commition here annexed We the Subscribers did on the 5th day of July 1775 go to the within named Susannah Conway and having examined her privily from her husband Catlett Conway do certify that he declared that it was without the persuaions or threats of her said husband she freely acknowledged the conveyance and that she was willing the same should be recorded in the County Court of Culpeper the

THIS INDENTURE made this 3 day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty nine Between GEORGE RUCKER and CATHERINE his Wife of County of Culpeper & Parish of Bromfield of one part and GEORGE ANDERSON of aforesaid County of other part; Witnesseth that GEORGE RUCKER and CATHERINE his Wife in consideration of the sum of Two hundred and seventy seven pounds, ten shillings current money of Virginia to him in hand paid; by these presents do bargain sell & confirm unto GEORGE ANDERSON his heirs one certain tract of land lying in County and Parish aforesaid containing by estimation Three hundred and thirty six acres, be the same more or less, and bounded; Begining at a white Oak on the River, corner to THOMAS RUCKER, thence North 30 East 140 poles to two white Oaks corner to THOMAS RUCKER at the Road, thence down said Road North 33 East 150 poles to a large Pine, thence North 35 East 110 poles to a dead Maple on AHARTS MILL DAM, thence North 50 West 186 pole to a double white Oak, corner in JOSEPH RUCKERs line, thence South 137 West 162 poles to a white Oak on the Road, corner to JOSEPH RUCKER, thence up said Road North 45 West 160 poles, corner to JOSEPH RUCKER in WILLIAM POWELLs line, thence South 37 West 160 poles to one large two small Maples & double white Oak on a Bran ch,corner in WILLIAM CAUFORDs line, thence down the said Branch to the River, thence down the several courses of the River to the begining; Together with all houses orchards belonging; To have and to hold the land & premises with all their appurtenances unto GEORGE ANDERSON his heirs; And GEORGE RUCKER for himself and his heirs the land and premises with appurtenances to GEORGE ANDERSON his heirs shall warrant and forever defend by these presents against any person; In Witness whereof the said GEORGE RUCKER & CATHERINE his Wife hath hereunto set their hands & seals the day and year first above written
