THESE PRESENTS testifie that I THO: HACKETT of ye Countie of Lancaster in Virginia, Gent for diverse good causes & valluable considerations as alsoe for ye Intire love & affection wch: he now & heereafter has to MARY, his Now Wife, & unto RICHARD, ELNR:, WILLIAM & SUZANNA DENHAM, Children of ye sd MARY, & for ye future maintanance hath granted to & confermed Eight hundred acers of land in ye Countie Lancastr: uppon ye Northern pt. ye sd COROTOMON RIVER abuttinge North East upon ye land of Mr. JOHN SAML.. East & South East uppon COROTOMON RIVER & S. W. uppon ye lands of WILLIAM CLAPHAM, thence therein uppon land of THO: POWELL, W:N:We: into ye Woods, To possess wth all ye profitts comodities & hereditamts. thereunto & unto ye lande belonginge wth: ye Pattent dated ye 1th of June 1652; To have & to hold ye aforesd. lande & all profitts as followeth, vizt., unto & for RICHARD DENHAM his heares of him lawfully begotten a Neck of land here known by ye name of LITTLE NECK containing Two hundred acres more or less adjoyninge next & upon ye land of Mr. JOHN SAML. & for bredth a Necke of Lande knowne by ye name of PERRYS NECKE & for lenth into ye woods unto Mr. WATREN PATE & for JOHN SHARPE, the Husbande of ELINOR DENHAM a Necke of land knowne by ye name of PERRYS NECKE containing by estimation Two hundred acres moare or less begininge att a duble marked notche old tree att the head of ye DEVIDING CREEKE runninge for lenth North East upon ye side of the DEVIDINGE SWAMPE above ye duble marked trees unto a small dubble marked red Oke runinge to a Greate white Oke close by North East of ye sd PATEs & unto ye Little Necke of RICHARD DENHAM, To hold ye sd lands to him or his heares lawfully begotten. And unto & for WILLIAM DENHAM & his heares by him lawfully begotten or to be begotten a parsell of land next adjoyninge unto ye sd Two hundred acres of land adjoyninge ye sd JOHN SHARPE & bounded as followeth begininge at an old marked red Oke & runinge Southerly upon ye North East side of COROTOMON RIVER unto a dubble marked tree for bredth & unto a dubble marked white Oke tree at ye head of a long Necke on a Coave in COROTOMON RIVER aforesd., to have & to hold ye residue of the Eight hundred acres of land wth: all mentioned rights priviledges unto the said Capt. THO: HACKETT his sd Wife, MARIE, during her naturall life & after the decease of him the sd THO: HACKETT his said Wife MARIE during her naturall life. In Wittness whereof the parties first above mentioned have set their hands & seales this 25th of Octobr: 1655

AN INVENTORY taken ye 11th day of Febr: 1656 of ye goods & chattels of THOMAS HACKETT deced. Imprimis two cows & three heifers, one old table & one old forme, one small bed, one old chest, two small tables with some other old books, one old drum, 3 old chairs & an old table & an old couch, one parcel of old pewter &a bras scimer & ladle, one old unfixt gun, one frying pan, one pestle & a froc, a small parcell of old tooles, one pr. of racks & 2 spits, one old iron pot 642 iron kettles, a small bell mettle skillet & 1 pr. of pot hangers, & pothooks, ye top of an old Still, 1 brass candlestick & snuffers, halfe a doze. of trayes, & two old pailes, one sorry maid Servt. at (600) Total 7307
