      Benjamin Benson, Will, February 15, 1808; March 9, 1808
      I, Benjamin Benson of CC, being weak of body but of perfect sound and disposing mind and memory;
      To son William Compton Benson, all the lands of which I may die possessed of, reserving to my daughter Susanna Jane Benson, the use and occupation of one room in my dwelling house, part of the kitchen for and during her single life. Also the following negroes; Eli, Milly, Lewis, Frank, Betty, Wat and Isaac, 3 feather beds and furniture, 9 chairs, 1 small looking glass wood frame, 2 dining tables, 1 ironing tables, and 2 guns.
      To daughter Susanna Jane Benson, the following negroes; Charles, Sam, John, Harry, Grandison, Mortimer, Harriot, Ann, Sarah, Philis and Moll, 1 set of china, 1 dressing table, 1 cupboard, ½ dozen silver tea spoons, 2 silver table spoons, 3 feather beds & furniture with the use and occupation of one room in my dwelling house, part of the kitchen and garden with a sufficiency of firewood. Also all the money due me on bonds and notes.
      To Mary Speake, daughter of Hezekiah and Theodosia Speake, 1 small feather bed and furniture, and 20 pounds.

      Jan. 25, 1809 - An inventory of the personal estate of Benjamin Benson late of Charles County, deceased, as reappraised and divided agreeably to the will of said deceased and the property hereunto annexed is that part bequeathed and set apart by the division now made for William Compton Benson as well as his equal part of the unbequeathed property belonging to said estate.
