Charles County Land Records 1790-1792; Liber K#4; Page 51. Deed of Trust. A marriage is shortly intended between Edward Ware Boswell and Elizabeth Parnham Bond, both of CC, it is hereby intended to settle and secure to sd Elizabeth all her personal property to her sole and separate use during coverture, free from all debts of her husband. This indenture therefore witnesses that sd Elizabeth and sd Edward, for 5 shillings to them now paid by Thomas Russell, have granted to sd Russell of CC, Negroes named Arnold (age 23 years), Celia (age 8 years), and Jane (age 3 years), in trust that after the intended marriage takes effect, sd Russell shall be possessed of the same and their increase, to the sole and separate use of sd Elizabeth during coverture, subject to her management, and not under the control of her husband_ Signed Apr 13, 1790 - Elizabeth P. Charles County Land Records 1790-1792; Liber K#4; Page 186. Instrument of Writing. Dec 14, 1790 between Thomas Russell of CC of the 1st part, to Frances Campbell of CC of the 2nd part, and James Russell of CC of the 3rd part. A marriage is soon to be solemnized between sd Thomas Russell and sd Frances Campbell. It is agreed between Thomas Russell and Campbell that Campbell shall, during coverture, possess exclusively, all the lands, tenements, hereditaments, slaves, stock, furniture, and other property she is now entitled to, free of any demand of sd Thomas Russell. Now this deed witnesses that sd Thomas Russell, for 5 shillings to him paid by sd Campbell, does covenant with sd Campbell possess all the lands, tenements, hereditaments, slaves, stock, furniture, and other property that she is entitled to. It is further covenanted by the parties afd, that sd Campbell, with the consent of sd Thomas Russell, for 5 shillings, sells to James Russell, all the above land and property, that she is now entitled to. This deed is in trust for the sole and exclusive benefit of sd Campbell during the coverture afd, and if sd Thomas Russell should survive sd Campbell, then Campbell may dispose of the estate in any manner she may think proper. If Campbell dies leaving Russell, without making any disposition, then the whole of her estate not disposed of shall descend and go to her heirs at law. Signed - Thorns Russell, Frances Campbell.
