Jan 27, 1791 from John Swan and Elizabeth, his wife, Joseph Swan and Agnes, his wife, Seth Barton and Sarah Emerson, his wife, May Maxwell, and Mary Maxwell, all of Baltimore Town (which sd Elizabeth, Agnes, Sarah, May, and Mary, are 5 of the daughters and co-heirs of George Maxwell, late of CC, decd), to Richard Sothoron, Benjamin Sothoron, John Johnson Sothoron and Ann, his wife, of St. Mary's County, Jonathan Anderson and Mary, his wife, Levin Sothoron and Rebecca, his wife, and James Briscoe and Elizabeth, his wife, of CC, for 975 £, five seventh undivided parts of the tract of land called Maxwells Seat. John Sothoron, late of CC, decd, on about Jan 20, 1789, agreed to purchase of John swan and Elizabeth, his wife, Helen Maxwell now Helen Tabbs, wife to Barton Tabbs of St. Mary's County), Agnes Maxwell (now Agnes Swan, wife to Joseph Swan afd), Sarah Emerson Maxwell (now Sarah Emerson Barton, wife to the afd Seth Barton), John Campbell and Marion, his wife, May Maxwell, and Mary Maxwell, which sd Elizabeth, Helen, Agnes, Sarah, Marion, May, and Mary are all the daughters and heirs of the afd George Maxwell, a certain tract of land in CC, called Maxwells Seat, supposed to contain about 487-1/2 acres, for the price of 2 £16 shillings for every acre that sd Maxwell Seat, upon survey, is found to contain. Sd John Sothoron, before a deed for sd Maxwells Seat was made to him by the afd heirs, sd George Maxwell died intestate, leaving the afd Richard, Benjamin, and Ann Sothoron, Mary Anderson, Rebecca Sothoron, and Elizabeth Briscoe, his legal heirs and representatives. John Swan and Elizabeth, his wife, Joseph Swan and Agnes, his wife, Seth Barton and Sarah Emerson, his wife, May Maxwell, and Mary Maxwell, are willing to execute their parts of sd agreement of the heirs of sd George Maxwell with sd John Sothoron.
