PINKARD FAMILY.
Captain Thomas2 Pinkard (John1) was justice of Lancaster in 1702. He married, first, Margaret, daughter of Captain Alexander Swann *(will of Capt. Swann proved in Lancaster, 1709.) He married, second, Elizabeth Downman (Hayden, Va. Genealogies, 74), (daughter of William Downman, who names his ''daughter Elizabeth Downman" in his will, proved in Richmond county, June 8, 1727. Her mother was Million Travers (daughter of Capt. William Travers.) Issue named in his will proved Oct. 10, 1740, 14 Thomas3, 15 John3, 16 Eliza, married, 1721 (i.) Major Charles3 Lee (Charles2, Richard1) ; married (ii.) Brent. 17 Margaret, married John Ball.

William Jauncey, of Co. of Northumberland, having a resolution to go out of ye country.
To: Wm. Eustace, My grandchild, natural son of John Eustace and my daughter Sarah his wife. Other children of sd John Eustace and his wife.
Godchild: Wm. Clapham.
Overseer of will: Thos. Haynes, attorney Wm. Hancock, Robert Skelton and Mr. Francis Lee, of London, merchant.
Brother: Mr. John Jauncey, living in Stradford, In Buckingham shire at Pharington.

Deposition of Anthony Stepto, age 44 years. John Cosens, of Co. of Northumberland, came out of England in same ship with him and often spoke of his mother and sister. Sd. John Cosens died in 1674. His estate claimed by Wm. Jauncey in right of his wife Elizabeth, sister of sd Cosons. Sd estate left to Sarah and John Eustace. Sarah died in 1682, leaving 2 sons, Wm. ye eldest. Apr. 12, 1697. W.B. 8, p. 64.
Deposition of Elizabeth Swan, age 50 yrs. John Cosens died about the year 1674 or 1676 and his reputed sister Mrs. Elizabeth Jauncey with her reputed husband Wm. Jauncey and their dau. Sarah and her reputed husband, Mr. John Eustace, came all together to Va. and touched the Barbadoes on their way. The sd. Sarah was delivered of a son called William soon after their arrival and 2 yrs. later another son called John. 12 Apr. 1697. W.B. 8, p. 64.
Elizabeth Pinkard, age 50 yrs. Deposition. She was acquainted with John Cosens and heard him speak of his mother and sister and his brother-in-law, Wm. Jauncey. W.B. 8, p. 64.
George Harward. Age 38 yrs. Same deposition.
Patience Stepto, age 54 yrs. Same deposition and adds that they came in a ship called ye Isaac & Benjamin, Mr. John Plover, Commander, and she came in same ship with same Cosens.
Elizabeth Harrod, age 34 yrs, makes same deposition.
