      An inventory of the goods and chattels of Alexander Hanna, late of CC, decd, appraised by us on Sep 6, 1775. Includes: Negro man Duke (45), Negro woman Priss (35), ditto Cate (30); 4 horses, 18 cattle, 30 hogs; 3 beds, 8 barrels of Indian corn. Total: 250 £15 shillings 9 pence. Signed - Jona Yates, Charles Brandt.

      The account of Thomas Rigg and Sarah, his wife, formerly Sarah Hannan, admors of Allixander Hannan, late of CC, deceased.
      Debts include: the inventory of sd deceased's estate, exhibited into Orphan Court on May 5, 1778, amounting to 250 £15 shillings 9 pence; 9 £12 shillings money found in the deceased's house; money received of Elizabeth Crain, of Eleazer Davis, of Walter Pye, of Jezreel Penn, of Richard Boarm, of Robert Oakly; a crop of tobacco left by the deceased at the time of his death, being Jan, 1775. The whole amount: 397 £14 shillings 7-1/2 pence.
      Disbursements went to Samuel Hanson per bond dated Dec 27, 1769; Robert King; Joseph Simms; John Hanson Jr; Joseph Edelin for rent, paid in the year 1755; Geo & Andrew Buchanan; William Hanson, late Sheriff, for levies and officers fees; Thomas Evans as per note assigned him by Mary Roberts; Robert and Monaca King, Executors at Benjamin King; Benjamin Philpot; Clerks Fees paid John Gwinn for Phillip Fendall; Craik and Jenifer; Doctor Thomas James; John Brooks; Daniel Jenifer for Letters; Walter Hanson, Register, for stating, passing, and recording this Account. Balance Accountable: 69 £18 shillings 6 pence.
      Final Account: 397 £13 shillings 7-1/2 pence. Securities: Townly Maddox and Baker Howard of CC. Representatives: widow and 6 children, viz, William, 16 years old the last of last Feb, Mary Anne, 13 years old last Jan 5, Robert, 12 years old next Aug 17, Alexander, 10 years old last Jan 19. Barton, 7 years old last Dec 16, Townly, 5 years old last Mar 26.

      At the request of Benjamin Adams the following Decrees and deed were recorded the 6th day of October Anno Domini 1802.

      The said cause standing ready for decision, the bill exhibits publication all other proceedings were by the Chancellor read and considered and the order passed at February term last for giving notice to the defendant having been duly published and no person having appeared agreeably to the tenor thereof and the Chancellor being satisfied that the omission to record the deed in the Bill mentioned was without any fraduluent design or intention in any persons whatever, and that the complainant hath a fair and equitable claim to the land therein mentioned so far as the said Deed can operate. It is Hereupon this tenth day of August Eighteen hundred and two by Alexander Contee Hanson Chancellor and by the authority of this court adjudged ordered and decreed that the said deed which is hereto annexed and which is a deed dated on the Fifth day of March in the year Seventeen hundred and sixty eight and executed by Alexander Hanner {Hannon/Hannan} of Charles County deceased for conveying unto John Hanner of the same county the several tracts of land called "Boswell's Desert" and "Marys Delight" containing together eighty seven acres, lying and being in Charles County be recorded within Six months from the date of this decree amongst the land records of Charles County or of the General Court for the Western Shore and that when so recorded it shall be taken and considered against the party who made it his heirs, devisees or Executors consequences to all intents and purposes as if it had been recorded within the time prescribed by law, provided Nevertheless that the said deed altho recorded agreeably to the decree, shall not destroy or in any manner affect the title of any purchaser of the said lands (if any such there be) who hath purchased the same since the date of the said deed and without notice thereof, whether the purchase hath been by contract only or by deed acknowledged and recorded agreeably to law and provided also that the deed hereby directed to be recorded shall not in any manner affect the creditors of the party (if any such there be) who have trusted him since the date thereof - C.       This Indenture made the Fifth day of march in the year of our lord God one thousand seven hundred and sixty eight, Between Alexander Hanner of Charles County in the province of Maryland, Carpenter, of the one part, and John Hanner of Charles County, Carpenter, of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Alexander Hanner for and in consideration of the sum of One hundred and fifteen pounds sixteen shillings current money, in hand paid by the said John Hanner the receipt where of the said Alexander Hanner doth hereby acknowledge and of every part thereof doth hereby acquit exonerate and fully discharge the said John Hanner as also for divers other causes and valuable considerations him the said Alexander Hanner more especially hereunto moving hath granted bargained and sold, and by these presents he the said Alexander Hanner doth grant bargain ad sell unto the said John Hanner his heirs and assigns forever all these several tracts or parcels of land hereafter named being in the possession of the said Alexander Hanner Viz all that part of a tract of land called "Boswell's Desert" containing Fifty acres, all that part of a tract of land called "Mary's Delight" containing thirty seven acres of land, containing in the whole eighty seven acres of land be the same more or less. To Have and to Hold the said lands and premises together with all and singular the improvements conveniences and advantages to the said Eighty seven acres of land belonging or in any manner of way appertaining to the only proper use and behoof of him the said John Hanner his heirs and assigns forever and to no other use intent or purpose whatsoever, And he the said Alexander Hanner doth for himself his heirs Executors and administrators covenant promise grant and agree to and with the said John Hanner his heirs and assigns the aforesaid Eighty seven acres of land and every part and parcel thereof and Further the said Alexander Hanner doth for himself his heirs Executors administrators and administrators covenant promise and agree to and with the said John Hanner his heirs and assigns the to save and keep harmless of and from all cost and charges that shall legally accrue in defense of the title hereby devised from the said Alexander Hanner to the said John Hanner of the aforesaid two tracts or parcels of land of every part and parcel thereof. And the said Alexander Hanner doth for himself his heirs Executors administrators further covenant promise grant and agree to and with the said John Hanner his heirs and assigns, that he the said Alexander Hanner and his heirs - line unreadable - and at all times hereafter, at the reasonable request, and at the proper cost and charges in the law of him the said John Hanner and his heirs and assigns do make acknowledge suffer and execute any further Deed or Instrument in writing such as the said John Hanner his heirs for assigns his or their council learned in the law shall reasonably devise aduce? Or require for the further and better assurance surety and such making the lands and premises aforesaid unto the said John Hanner his heirs and assigns forever. In Testimony whereof the party first to these presents hath set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first above written

      On the Back of the aforegoing Deed is thus written to wit,
      Charles County March ye 5th 1768 Came Alexander Hanner party to the within Deed before us the subscribers two of his Lordships the Right honorable the Lord Proprietary Justices for the County aforesaid and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed and the premises therein mentioned to be the right title and Estate of the within named John Hanner his heirs and assigns forever, according to the purport true intent and meaning thereof. At the same time came the wife of the said Alexander Hanner who being by us examined a art from and out of the hearing of her husband (the said Alexander Hanner) touching her said right of dower to the said land and premises relinquished her right hereto and acknowledged she did the same freely and voluntarily, and that she was not induced thereto by any threats or ill usage of her said husband so fear of his displeasure
      Taken acknowledged in the presence of two of the Lordships Justices of the said County Jno. Winter Geo. Dent
      Received of John Hanner one hundred and fifteen pounds Sixteen Shillings, being the consideration for the within bargained premises
