      I, Joseph Hanson Harrison, of CC, am of sound mind and memory. Firstly, I want all my just debts paid.
      To my daughter Dorothy - all my real estate.
      To my daughter Mary Hutcheson - 1 walnut coaufat [?] and 1 large gilt looking glass [both now at George Hutcheson's], during her natural life, and after her death to my grandson William Hutcheson.
      To my son Joseph White Harrison - 1 desk which was my father's, and is now at George Hutcheson's.
      To my granddaughter Mary Hutcheson - 1 small walnut table.
      To my granddaughter Jean Hutcheson - 1small oval table, which is now at George Hutcheson's.
      To my son Richard Harrison - a young Negro man named George; also my silver watch [now in the hands of one Short at Alverson executrix to Cerrefrisond]
      To my sister Elizabeth Mastin - 2 blue _ C_ [now at George Hutcheson's.
      To my niece Mary Mastin - 1 small looking glass with a gilt frame, now at my sister Elizabeth's.
      To my daughter Dorothy - the rest of my estate. I want Dorothy to treat Negro Poll with great tenderness, and that she give a deed of freedom to sd Negro Poll, within the next 5 years.
      Executor: my worthy nephew, friend & benefactor, Colo Robert Townshend Hooe, of the Town of Alexandria.

      Charles County Land Records 1775-1782; Liber V#3; Page 596, Jul 17, 1782 from the Honorable Daniel of Saint Thomas Jenifer of Anne Arundel County, Esq, to Messieurs Richard and Joseph Harrison of Virginia, for 5 shillings sterling, a lot in the Town of Port Tobacco on the east side of the road leading through sd Town, opposite Mrs. Rachael Forry's lot, and adjoining a lot commonly called Kinsmans Lot, and the same that the afd Daniel of Saint Thomas Jenifer conveyed to messieurs Hooe Stone and Company. Aug 9, 1782 from Joseph White Harrison, merchant of the Borough of Alexandria, Virginia, to Richard Harrison, merchant of the same place, but at present of the City of Cadiz in Spain. Whereas the Honorable Daniel of Saint Thomas Jenifer was seized in fee simple of a moiety or half part of a certain lot in the Town of Port Tobacco in CC on the east side of the road leading through the sd Town and opposite to a lot belonging to Rachael Forry on the west side of the sd road and adjoining a lot commonly called Kinsmans Lot or Lots. lying on the east side and NE corner of sd lot, in consequence of a Copartnership and settlement between him and Robert Townsend Hooe, Esq, of the Borough of Alexandria afd, the whole of which lot sd Daniel of Saint Thomas Jenifer had formerly sold to Hooe Stone and Company, and being so seized by a CC deed dated Jul 17, 1782, conveyed the sd moiety of sd lot to sd Richard and Joseph Harrison, whereby they became jointly seized of the same in fee. Now this deed witnesses that sd Joseph White Harrison, for 5 shillings to him in hand paid by sd Richard Harrison, herein conveyed is all of sd Joseph White Harrison's right to sd moiety of sd lot. I, Joseph White Harrison of the Borough of Alexandria in Virginia, appoint my friend, Mr_ Richard Barnes of CC, my true and lawful attorney, to recover all money, debts, dues, wares, accounts, and other demands that are due to me from anyone in CC, St. Mary's County, and Prince Georges County. Whereas the commercial concerns of Robert Townshend Hooe of Virginia, Richard Harrison of the City of Cadiz, in Spain, and Joseph White Harrison of Virginia, late partners in trade, was dissolved last Oct 17, and as on settlement of the original stock and profits of the partners afd, whose business was known by the name Hooe & Harrison, it is found that a considerable sum of money will justly fall to the share of the afd Joseph White Harrison from the late Concern afd, whose subject and effects is in the hands of Robert Townshend Hooe and Richard Harrison, partners at present under the name Hooe Harrison, and as the subject of the late Concern afd was made up of outstanding debts and other effects, and sd Hooe, acting partner in the late concern of Hooe Harrison and in the present concern of Hooe & Harrison, has thought it proper, in order to do sd Joseph White Harrison ample and speedy justice, to set apart and make over to the sd Joseph, among other effects, several debts due to the concern of Hooe & Harrison. Therefore, be it known that I, Robert Townshend Hooe, for myself and my partner, Richard Harrison afd, do assign to the afd Joseph White Harrison the respective sums of money due the late concern of Hooe Harrison in the hands of the following persons, to wit, James Taylor, Thomas Reeder, Alexander Knox, William Urquhart, Alexander H. Magruder, Ignatius Ryan, Leatch Ireland, Walter Pye, Gerard Causin, Benjamin Spiker, Peter Carbury, William Lauder, Henry Barnes, John Heard, William Jones, John Clements, Reubin Dye, Levi Thomas, Joseph Speake, Josiah Gordon, John Addison, Richard Thompson, William Barnhouse & Garland Callis, all of Maryland, Henry Fitzhugh, William Cook, George Johnston, Samuel Poling, Edmund Carnes, Daniel Black, Charles Gallihue, Spotswood Grimes and Churchhill, Burwell & Savage, Nicholas Fleece, John Robertson, Robert Boggess, John Herndon, Charles Lee, John Hall, Samuel Love, and Joseph Caverly, all of Virginia, Charles Willing of Barbados, Henry Lloyd of the Town of Boston, and Mayne & Company of Lisbon in Portugal. And to the intent that sd Joseph White Harrison may have it in his power to compel payments where unreasonable delays or unjust evasions are made, I hereby give him, for the express purpose of recovering the sums due from the afd persons and no other, the following letter of attorney, viz - I, Robert Townshend Hooe, acting partner in the late Concerns of Hooe & Harrisons at Port Tobacco and at Alexandria, Virginia, and at present acting partner in the Concerns of Hooe & Harrisons at Port Tobacco and at Alexandria, Virginia, merchant, appoint Joseph White Harrison my true and faithful attorney and the true and faithful attorney of Richard Harrison afd, for me and for him, but to sd Joseph's own use, to recover of all of the debtors before herein mentioned, the sums they owe on the Books of Hooe Harrisons afd, by bond, penal bill, note of hand, open account, protested bills of exchange, accepted orders, or otherwise.       At a Court held for Fairfax County on Mar 19, 1782, Robert Townshend Hooe, for himself and his partner, Richard Harrison, acknowledged this power of attorney. Recorded Aug 13, 1782.
