Jun 18, 1764 from Joseph Hanson Harrison of CC, to Robert Townshend Hooe of CC, for 80 £, a tract of land called The Land of Canaan, (which was formerly laid out for James Raly for 50 acres by the name of Cavin, but as sd Rayly died possessed thereof without heir and intestate, the same became escheat, and on petition of Joseph Hanson Harrison for a warrant of resurvey, it was granted on Mar 4, 1756, with the liberty of adding the contiguous vacancy, which, as appears by the certificate of survey thereof, was 50 acres, which, being added to the original, makes 100 acres, as by patent dated Sep 29, 1761 more fully appears), lying in CC, bounded by Thompkinsons Purchase, the line of a parcel of land called the Freehold, containing and laid out for about 100 acres. May 27, 1768 from Joseph Hanson Harrison of CC, to Richard Harrison of CC, for 500 £ 7 tracts or parcels of land in Durham Parish in CC, viz, 2 parcels of a tract of land called Virlindas, being the remainder of the whole tract exclusive of what was formerly conveyed to William Gibson, sd remainder containing about 150 acres; also a tract of land called Amsterdam, patented for about 427 acres; also one other tract of land called Kings Evil, containing about 50 acres; also one other tract of land called Griffiss Folly, containing about 50 acres; also one other tract of land called Hudsons Disappointment, containing about 4 acres; also one other tract of land called Alexanders Chance, containing about 50 acres; and one other parcel of land, being part of a tract of land called Joe Wrights Discovery, which part contains about 85 acres. Jun 1, 1773 from Joseph Hanson Harrison of CC, to Alexander Knox, ship master, for 400 £, a tract of land whereon sd Harrison dwells, called Miricks Chance, lying on the east side of Potowmack River in CC, the same being the land that was patented to William Miricks on Mar 25, 1724 for 150 acres, and which after several more conveyances, was sold by William Sisson to sd Harrison, by CC deed dated Feb 13, 1745. Also, a tract of land called Gailys Rest, except for about 22 acres which were taken away by an elder surveys and grants, which was granted to Thomas Gailey by the Lord Proprietor of Maryland, lying in CC at the NW bound tree of land called Lands land, laid out and patented for 100 acres. Galleys Rest was purchased by sd Harrison from Thomas Wright and John Wright by their separate CC deeds dated Apr 13, 1763 and Nov 16, 1769. Signed - Jo: H. Harrison. Wit - Dan Jenifer*, G.R. Brown*. We, Robert Townshend Hooe & Robert Hanson Harrison, hereby declare that we hold the within mentioned slaves in trust for the sole use of Mrs. Mary Harrison, wife of Joseph Hanson Harrison, during her life, and after her death, to be divided among with any increase they may have between her 2 daughters, Mary and Dorathy Harrison, in case they shall be there living, or to be delivered to the survivor of them if one shall be dead without issue, but if the decd one shall leave issue then living, then to be divided between such surviving daughter the issue of the decd one, we having purchased the slaves afd with money paid to us for the benefit of sd Mary Harrison & her 2 daughters afd.
