      600. GERRARD LOWTHER the Attorney of HUGH FRENCH made humble suit to this Court that RICE HOOE stood indebted to the aforesaid French the sum of four hundred pounds of Tobacco due per bill which bill being left the said Rice Hooe refuses to pay the same Wherefore your Petr craves Judgment against the said Rice Hooe for his said debt with costs of suit And the said Rice Hooe came into Court and confessed Judgment to the said Bill and Exhibited to this Court an account against the said Bill which being fully proved in Court by his Oath upon the Holy Evangelist to his aforesaid account Therefore tis ordered that the said Rice Hooe of and from the aforesaid Bill shall be freely and fully discharged and Hugh French pay costs als Execution.

      pp 33a-34 TO ALL XTIAN PEOPLE to whom these presents shall come Bee it Knowne that I RICE HOOE of Stafford County for divers good causes have sold unto FRANCIS HOULT a Certaine Parcell of land lying and being upon the Easterne Branch of PASPOTANZEY CREEKE adjoyning on the Land of CAPT. WM. HEABEARD deced on the North syde and on the Land of CHARLES BALDRIDGE on the West side and adjoyneing upon the Land of JOSHUA GREENE and CHARLES BALARIDGE on ye South side and see with a Straight line along the foure sides along the same syde belonging to the said RICE HOOE to the Swamp on the NE syde which sd parcell of land I the aforesd RICE HOOE doe firmly sell unto the aforesd FRANCIS HOULT his heires for ever To Have and To Hold with all priviledges thereunto belonging from me and my heires forever or from any other clame that any pson or psons may now or hereaftr shall pretend, acknowledging hereby to have reced one man Servant named GEORGE RUSSEL which I the said RICE HOOE doth acknowledge to bee full satisfaction to my content. East from ye Lande DOCTOR SEAST upon ye Lande of JOSHUA GREENE Upon ye lande formerly sould by RICE HOOE and VALLENTINE SHUGHBURGH and acknowledged unto FRANCES HOULT by RICE HOOE together wth all appurtenances upon ye Land formerly belonging unto Capt WILLIAM HERBERT wch hundred and fifty acres of land To Have and To Hold to him ye said BENJAMINE WEBBE. In Wittness whereof have sett my hande and Seale ye 10th day of October 1688
