Will of Lewis Davis Yancey of Culpeper Co. Dated 17 April, 1778. Proven 22 April, 1788.
Legatees: Wife Winifred Yancey.
One shilling to the following children who had received their portion of slaves and personal estate:
Charles Yancey, Lewis Yancey, Richard Yancey, John Yancey, Philemon Yancey, Ann Nalle, Winifred Nalle.
Sons: James Yancey (apparently in parts unknown). If he does not return and apply for his part of slaves, they
were to go to son Robert Yancey. Divided among "all my children," if Robert "should die in the Service of his Country."
Executors: Sons Lewis Yancey, Richard Yancey, Robert Yancey.
Wit.: James Pendleton, Henry Pendleton, Elizabeth Yancey.
Codicil, dated 2 May, 1782, proven 16 June, 1788, altered bequests to Robert Yancey and James Yancey but showed they survived the War.

v. John YANCEY was born ABT 1734 in , Louisa, VA. He married Fanny LEWIS.
vi. Philemon YANCEY was born 1735 in , Culpeper, VA. He married Sarah POWERS.
vii. Lewis Davis YANCEY II was born 1737 in , Louisa, VA, and died 1784. He married Winifred Henrietta FAVOR 1750 in , Culpeper, VA.
viii. Winifred YANCEY was born 1740 in , Orange, VA, and died 1797 in , Scott, KY. She married Martin NALLE III ABT 1766 in , Culpeper, VA, son of Martin NALLE II and Isabelle. He was born 1736 in , Orange, VA, and died Dec 1806 in , Scott, KY.
ix. Anne Eleanor "Nancy" YANCEY was born 1744 in , Culpeper, KY, and died 1807 in , Scott, KY. She married William NALLE ABT 1758 in , Culpeper, VA, son of Martin NALLE II and Isabelle. He was born ABT 1734 in , Essex, VA, and died ABT 1796 in , Scott, KY.
x. Richard YANCEY was born 1748 in , Louisa, VA, and died 1804.
xi. Robert YANCEY was born 1750 in , Louisa, VA, and died 1824. He married Elizabeth HOLLOWAY.
xii. James YANCEY was born 1752 in , Louisa, VA, and died 1787. He married Abigail CUDWORTH 2 Jan 1777 in Boston, Suffolk, MA.

Yancey to Stringfellow Indenture
This indenture made the second day of June 1769 between Lewis Davis Yancey of the County of Culpeper of the one part and Henry Stringfellow of the same county of the other part. Witnesseth that Lewis Davis Yancey in consideration of 5 pounds current money of Virginia in hand has sold to Henry Stringfellow a parcel of land containing 40 acres situate in Culpeper County in St. Mark’s Parish in the great fork of Rappahannock River on the branches of Muddy Run adjoining the land and lines of the said Henry Stringfellow, William Steuart and Lewis Yancey and is bounded by lines of the said lands as follows; beginning at two white oaks in low grounds of Cabin Branch corner to the said Stringfellow and William Steuart and runs thence with Steuart’s line South 55° East 40 pole to two red oaks another corner to Steuart, thence with his line South 35° West 190 pole to three pines corner to Lewis Yancey, thence with his line North 55° West 40 poles to three pines on a Ridge, a corner to the said Stringfellow, thence with his lines to the beginning. In witness whereof the said Lewis Davis Yancey have hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first above written.

THIS INDENTURE made the 30th day of November in year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and Eighty Between LEWIS DAVIS YANCEY and WINEFRED his Wife of County of Culpeper of one part and ROBERT YANCEY of County aforesaid of other part Witnesseth that LEWIS DAVIS YANCEY and WINEFRED his Wife in consideration of the natural love and affection which they have and do bear unto ROBERT YANCEY, their Son, as well as for sum of Five shillings current money to them in hand paid by these presents doth give & confirm unto ROBERT YANCEY his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract of land containing by Estimation Two hundred acres and if he should die without Lawful! heir then to decend to any one of CHARLES YANCEY's Children which said ROBERT shall think proper reserving unto LEWIS DAVIS YANCEY and WINEFRED his Wife during their natural lives the free use of said Two hundred acres of land the said Two hundred acres of land bounded begining at two Hickories corner to BEVERLEY, th. with line North 25 West Two hundred & twenty pole to a Hickory and two Oak saplins, Corner to CHARLES YANCEY, th. with his line So. 72 West One hundred and forty pole to a white Oak and two red Oaks, thence South 11 East One hundred and seventy eight pole to the line of LEWIS DAVIS YANCEY, thence with that line No. 84 East One hundred and ninety poles to the begining, Togather with all the appurtenances thereof to have and to hold the said Land with the appurtenances unto ROBERT YANCEY his heirs and assigns forever.
