      THIS INDENTURE made this 9th day of June in year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred &Eighty five Between JAMES NORMAN of County of WILKS NORTH CAROLINA of one part & THOMAS NORMAN of County of Culpeper of other part Witnesseth that for sum of Fifty pounds current money of Virginia by THOMAS NORMAN to JAMES NORMAN in hand paid by these presents do bargain & sell unto THOMAS NORMAN his heirs a certain tract of land lying in County of Culpeper and part of the MOUNT PONEY TRACT of land formerly the property of COLO. CHARLES CARTER of STAFFORD COUNTY containing by estimation two hundred & nineteen acres and bounded begining at two small Maples in the line of JOHNSTONs Lott & Corner to Fifty acres sold by the Trustees of the above mentioned CARER to FREDERICK ZIMMERMAN, thence with JOHNSTONs Lott line North seventy six degrees East eighty poles to a marked red Oak supposed to be JOHNSTONs line or Corner, thence South seventy degrees East thirty eight poles ending in a piece of JOHNSTONs Tobacco Ground, thence North Four degrees West three hundred & seventy two poles to a white Oak red Oak & Ash saplin by the Edge of the Low Grounds on the North side of MOUNTAIN RUN to ABRAM HANES, thence North Fifty seven degrees West fourteen poles to a Sicamore Bush in an old Field by the edge of a Cornfield Corner to CARTERs Original Survey and also to ABRAM HAYNES, thence through a Field South thirty seven degrees West One hundred & fifty two poles to two Maples & a willow Oak in a Swamp near to CARTERs back line & Corner to FREDERICK ZIMMERMAN's fifty acres as aforesaid, thence with ZIMMERMAN's line South four degrees East crossing MOUNTAIN RUN two hundred & fifty six poles to the begining, Together with all houses profits & Hereditaments to the same belonging To have and to hold the said land with the appurtenances unto THOMAS NORMAN his heirs In Witness whereof JAMES NORMAN hath hereunto set his hand & Seal
