      I, Ignatius B. Brooke of New Town in Saint Mary's County being sick and weak of body, but of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding;
      To brother Reverend Mr. Leonard Brooke now in England such sums of money for his support and maintenance as may be adjudged necessary by and in the discretion of the Reverend Mr. Charles Neale of Mount Carmel in Charles County.
      To brother Doctor Walter Brooke, the whole of my estate both real personal and mixed.

Sep 20, 1787 from Leonard Brooke and Ignatius Baker Brooke of CC, to Thomas Lancaster of CC, for 60,000 lbs of crop tobacco, 309 acres of land in CC, beginning, one part thereof, part of St. Thomas', lying in CC, bounded by the west side of Gilberts Swamp, containing about 231 acres. Also part of another tract of land called Plague, lying in CC, and adjoining to the before mentioned part of Saint Thomas', containing about 15 acres. Also, a small tract of land called Woods Addition, lying in CC, bounded by Saint Thomas', containing about 30 acres.       At the request of Clement Dorsey the following Deed was recorded December 20, 1805
      Indenture made December 17, 1805; Rev. Baker Brooke of St. Mary's County, Maryland in consideration of 351 pounds 3 shillings and 10 pence half penny current money of Maryland paid by Clement Dorsey have sold a tract of land lying in CC near to the town of Port Tobacco being part of "Chandler's Hope" binding on Port Tobacco run and Philip Ostro's Lot and containing 18 acres 2 rods and 37 perches.       At the request of Baker Brooke the following Mortgage was recorded December 20, 1805
      Indenture made December 17, 1805; between Clement Dorsey of CC of the one part and Rev. Baker Brooke of St. Mary's County, Maryland of the other part. Whereas the said Baker Brooke by his deed bearing equal date conveyed unto the said Clement Dorsey in fee all the parcel of land therein mentioned for the consideration of 351 pounds 3 shillings and 10 pence half penny current money and whereas no part of the said sum of money has been paid to the said Baker Brooke by the said Clement Dorsey but it is understood and agreed that one 3rd part thereof with interest on the whole of the said sum from the 1st day of January 1806 shall be paid on or before the 1st day of January 1807 and that the other one third part of the said sum with interest on two thirds of the said sum from 1 January 1807 shall be paid on or before the 1st day of January 1808 and that the remaining 3rd part of said sum with interest thereon from the 1st day of January 1800 and 8 shall be paid on or before the 1st day of January 1809 and whereas it was further agreed that for the better securing of the said sum of money to the said Baker Brooke that the said Clement Dorsey when executed to him a mortgage on the said land. Now this indenture witnessed that Clement Dorsey in consideration of the said agreement and the sum of money so by him do to the said Baker Brooke and for the better securing the payment thereof with interest and also of the sum of $5 current money has sold all that tract or parcel of land aforesaid and being a part of a tract called Chandler's Hope provided always that Clement Dorsey shall well and truly pay unto the said Baker Brooke the aforesaid sum of money with legal interest at the time specified. THOMAS MANOR: 4080 acres; Possession of - 3500 + 580 Acres - Mathew, Thomas: Surveyed 25 Aug 1649 for Thomas Mathew near Port Tobacco Creek, 500 Acres surveyed the same day for the Said Mathews on the East side Thomas Creek these two parcels of land contained in one patent and granted Mr Henry Warren 13 Jan 1670 (resurveyed for Francis Pennington, rent 800 pounds wheat): Other notes - The rent of this land is reserved in grain.
