I GEO: MASON of county Stafford Gent. .. for divers good causes .. but more especially for the good will & respect that I have unto THOMAS & MARY BARBEE, Son & Daughter of ANDREW BARBEE late of said county deced .. given (them) 200 acres of land situate upon Acquikeek Run in Stafford County it being the uppermost end of a greater tract belonging to me .. reserving to me the benefit of a lease of the said 200 acres of land which is already granted unto THOMAS JAMES during his natural life .. Page 216-218 In Name of God Amen I THOMAS BARBEE of Overwharton Parish in Stafford County and Colony of Virga. Planter being in health of body & of sound mind .. make my last will & Testament in manner as Follows Imps I bequeath Soul to God .. worldly Estate dispose of as Followeth
Item I give unto my Loving Wife MARGARET the Plantation whereon I now live during the remaining time of my Lease which is for the Life of my Daughter SARAH OBANNON, as also I give my Wife three negro men .. during the term of three years my intent being that shall be possessed of them till the finishing of third crop after my decease the last of which shall not be deemed to end sooner than the last day of November & thereto be disposed of as follows.
Item I give unto my son ANDREW BARBEE and his heirs my Negro fellow Dick as soon as the said term limited to my wife above is expired. Item I give unto my son THOMAS BARBEE and his heirs my Negro Fellow Jack .. as soon as said term limitted to my wife above expired. item I give unto my son JOHN BARBEE and heirs, Negro fellow Jupiter as soon as term expired .. as also one Feather bedd & Furniture (other items).
Item I give unto my daughter SARAH OBANNON one shilling Sterling & no more having already sufficiently provided for her.
Item I give to my daughter CATHARINE WITHERS one feather bed one rug one blanket pair of sheets one cow & calf one yearling in full of all demands which she or her husband has or may have against my Estate. Item I give unto my daughter MARY COATNEY one shilling Sterling & no more having already sufficiently provided for her.
Item I give unto my daughter LYDIA GRANT one shilling Sterling & no more having already sufficiently provided for her.
Item I give unto my Daughter ANNE BARBEE one feather bed one rug one blanket a pair of sheets one pewter dish 2 pewter plates & 6 pewter spoons a cow 6 a calf and one yearling.
Item I give unto my daughter BETTY BARBEE one feather bed 1 rugg 1 blanket a pair sheets 1 pewter dish 2 pewter plates & 6 pewter spoons a cow & a calf & one yearling.
Item I give unto my youngest son JOSEPH BARBEE and his heirs 1 feather bed 1 rugg 1 blanket & a pair of sheets 1 pewter dish, 2 pewter plates, 6 pewter spoons a cow & calf and one yearling my Pistols Holsters & sword as also the sum of 46 pounds currt money which I desire may be laid out by my Executrix & Executors hereafter named to purchase a young Negroe for my said on Joseph. Item I give unto my loving wife Margaret during the term of her natural life all the rest of my goods chattels & other personal Estate of whatsoever kind not already disposed of and after her decease I give the same to my said youngest son Joseph & his heirs .. Lastly I make my said loving wife Margaret and WILLIAM MATHEWS JUNIOR my Executrix & Executor declaring this writing contained in this and the two former pages only to be my last will .. 8th November 1748.

Indenture made 2nd/3rd February 1743 between WILLIAM FLOWERS of Hanover Parish King George County & MARY his wife of one part and JAMES HEWETT of same county .. by deeds of lease & release .. for sum One hundred and Thirty pounds current money of Virginia sold 250 acres whereon William Flowers doth now or lately lived in Brunswick Parish .. for greatest part in King George County a small part extending into Overwharton Parish county of Stafford .. whereas JAMES JONES the Younger late of said Parish Planter deced by deeds 6th/7th June 1728 .. grant unto William Flowers .. 100 acres in Brunswick Parish .. bounded .. beginning at line that was line of SIMON THOMAS dividing line that formerly belonged to WILLIAM ELLZEY .. being line of 500 acres bought by THOMAS ELLZEY deced of JOHN WAUGH Clerk deced .. to dividing line of 200 acres devised by Thomas Elzey to his Son THOMAS ELZEY .. and whereas THOMAS BARBY of county Stafford by his deed Poll date 14th October 1730 for consideration mentioned did sell unto Wm. Flowers 250 acres .. adjoyning above mentioned 100 acres .. bounded .. along marked line dividing this from 200 acres sold by John Waugh Clerk to one DAVID EVANS .. and whereas Wm. Flowers hath since .. sold 100 acres of the last mentioned 250 acres purchased from Thomas Barby unto WILLIAM SIMPSON .. so that Wm. Flowers stands now seized of the Plantation mentioned above and the other 250 acres
