At the request of Peter Wood of St Mary's County, the following deed was recorded this Aug 22, 1724.
Aug 14, 1724 from John Marten of CC, gent, to Peter Wood of St Mary's County, carpenter, for 10,000 lbs of tobacco, all that parcel of land, being part of a tract of land called LYONS DENN, lying in CC on the west side of Zachia Swamp, originally taken up by Daniel Johnson, containing about 140 acres. Signed - Jno Marten. Wit - Walter Story*, Jno Briscoe*. This deed was acknowledged by John Marten & Elizabeth, his wife.
