Notes - Research notes from William Good
I kept seeing the marriage of Richard Gardiner and Elizabeth Hame/Home/Hume supposedly occurring at St Martin in the Fields, Westminster, 23 January 1614. Of course there was no such marriage in the Church Register.
I finally found the marriage of Richard Gardiner & Elizabeth Hame at Ockham in Surrey on 23 January 1614/15.
I also found the will of Elizabeth's father, Mathew Hame of Ockham, at London in 1640. Mathew mentions his daughter Elizabeth Gardiner, his son-in-law Richard Gardiner and his Gardiner grandchildren, Agnes, Mary, Richard, John and Thomas.
Clearly Richard Gardiner & Elizabeth Hame have nothing to do with the Maryland Gardiners
