      Thomas Monroe's Will
      In the name of God, Amen, I Thomas Monroe of the County of Westmoreland being weak but of disposing since and memory do make constitute and ordain this my last will and testament.
      Imprimis, I give and devise to my brother Andrew Monroe, Negro James, of the 10 pounds cash out of him to be paid to my brother James Monroe.
      Item I give and devise to my sister Martha Monroe, one bay mare and 8 pounds cash to pay for a saddle.
      Item I give and devise to my sister Jane Monroe, 40 shillings cash.
      Item I give and devise to my sister Martha Monroe the rest of my estate to by her clothes.
      Lastly, I appoint my brother Andrew Monroe my executor of this my last will and testament. In testimony whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal this ninth day of March 1772.

      At a court held for Westmoreland County the 28th day of April 1772 this will was proved according to law by the oaths of Andrew Monroe and George Weedon the witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded; and on the motion of Andrew Monroe, Jr., the executor therein named who made oath thereto according to law and together with Rachael Monroe is security entered into and acknowledged by with the condition as the law directs, certificate is granted him for obtaining a probate thereof in due form.
