      The Commonwealth of Virginia to TOWNSHEND DADE and WILLIAM HOOE SR , Gentlemen justices, Greeting, Whereas WILLIAM QUARLES and LUCY his Wife of County of King George by their certain Deed of Lease have conveyed unto JAMES WENT of aforesaid County a certain parcel of land lying in Parish of Brunswick and County aforesaid containing by Survey Four hundred acres; (the Commission for the privy examination of LUCY, the Wile of WILLIAM P. QUARLES); And this Writ witness JOSEPH ROBINSON Clerk of our said County Court of King George this 14th day of (blank) 1785, in the Tenth yar of this Commonwealth JOS. ROBINSON, C. Cur.
      By virtue of the within Writ, we went to the House of the within mentioned WILLIAM P. QUARLES and examined the within mentioned LUCY QUARLES seperate and apart from her said Husband the return of the execution of the privy examination of LUCY QUARLES).

      This Indented Deed of Lease from under the hands and seals of WILLIAM P, QUARLES & LUCY his Wife to JAMES WENT she being first privately examined, was presented into Court and acknowledged by WILLIAM P. QUARLES, whoch on the motion of JAMES WENT was admitted to Record Test JOS: ROBINSON, C. K. G. Cott'.
