Will of MARY DOONE. {sic Donne}
I MARY DOONE of King George County being sick ..
give and devise to my granddaughter MARY ALEXANDER one half of my tract of land lying in county of Culpepper .. also slaves (18 named).. also all my household and kitchen furniture ..
I give to my granddaughter LUCY ALEXANDER the other half of my tract of land lying in county of Culpepper .. slaves (18 named) .. (in both cases to be delivered to them on marriage or when they shall attain age twenty one years) ..
to my granddaughter SARAH ALEXANDER one negro girl ..
unto my granddaughter FRANCES ALEXANDER one negro girl ..
unto my grandson PHILIP ALEXANDER one negro boy, also one dozen Silver Table Spoons and a Soup Spoon and a negro named Scipio .. unto my daughter LUCY ALEXANDER one negro girl ..
desire my estate not be appraised but that my son in law JOHN ALEXANDER whom I appoint my Executor do take an Inventory
agreeable to Law .. this 20th day June 1769.

Note That for this present year one thousand seven hundred and eighty five no Rent, tax or imposition to be paid for the within named Land or Tenement by the within named WENT. WM. P. QUARLES
The Commonwealth of Virginia to TOWNSHEND DADE and WILLIAM HOOE SR , Gentlemen justices, Greeting, Whereas WILLIAM QUARLES and LUCY his Wife of County of King George by their certain Deed of Lease have conveyed unto JAMES WENT of aforesaid County a certain parcel of land lying in Parish of Brunswick and County aforesaid containing by Survey Four hundred acres; (the Commission for the privy examination of LUCY, the Wile of WILLIAM P. QUARLES); And this Writ witness JOSEPH ROBINSON Clerk of our said County Court of King George this 14th day of (blank) 1785, in the Tenth yar of this Commonwealth JOS. ROBINSON, C. Cur.
By virtue of the within Writ, we went to the House of the within mentioned WILLIAM P. QUARLES and examined the within mentioned LUCY QUARLES seperate and apart from her said Husband the return of the execution of the privy examination of LUCY QUARLES).
Given under our hands and seals this 17th November 1785

This Indented Deed of Lease from under the hands and seals of WILLIAM P, QUARLES & LUCY his Wife to JAMES WENT she being first privately examined, was presented into Court and acknowledged by WILLIAM P. QUARLES, whoch on the motion of JAMES WENT was admitted to Record Test JOS: ROBINSON, C. K. G. Cott'.
