      Note: Wagener Family Cemetery

Located 20 yards west of Rte.1, @200 yards north of the bridge over the Occoquan River, Lorton, Virginia.

A 50' x 50' chain link fence surrounds two marble headstones that have been set in concrete flush with the ground. There are three other concrete features (all flush with the ground) of unknown purpose present within the fenced area. There are unmarked graves present, but topography makes an estimate difficult. The cemetery is clean and well maintained.
(Note: This is also the original burial site of PETER WAGENER (1744-1798), who was removed to Pohick Episcopal Church c. 1955. His marker at the church is a marble military style headstone with two bronze plaques attached. The inscription is given as #3 below.)
