Hen: Chichley Knt their Majties Deputie Govern'r of Virginia with the consent of the Counsell of State to Edwin Conway, 900 acres in Rappa "beginning at Tacapacon Spring, the beginning of a Patent for 5275 acres of Land granted to Tho Chetwood and John Prosser and running along said Chetwoods and Prossers Line N and by W 720 perch to an Indian tree menconed in their Patent x x to the River of Rappahannock, thence up along the said River and Pocason West ninety-three perches to the Palce it began x x".

      "Wm Reynolds aged 50 yeares or thereabouts being sworne and examined saith that this Depont was desired by Mrs Hawkins the wife of Thomas Hawkins to goe with her an Mr Boughton to be witness of a Bill of sale of a Cow wch she said her husband had bought of Richard White and when they came thither the Cowe was not at home But he refused to make a Bill of sale of the Cowe till he had spoken with and come to Acco with the said Hawkins The said White said the Calfe was in the penn and the Cow would come to her Calfe ere long and then he would deliver the Cowe to John Squibb And further saith not Wm Reynolds his marke 20 Janu 1652 Jurat in Cur " (1652/3)

      WHEREAS there is a Grant passed at JAMES CITY under the Seale of the Colony or Dominion of Virginia for Three hundred acres of land unto EDWIN CONWAY of LANCASTER County dated the 28th of Septembr: Ano: Dom: 1681, the sd land lying & being in the County of RAPPAHANNOCK on the North side of Rappahannock River above CHINGATEAGUE CREEK & begins at TOCAPACON SPRING the beginning of a great Patent for land granted to JOHN PROSSER & THO: CHITWOOD, and runs the courses and distances sett down in the sd Patent. Now Know all men by these presents that the sd EDWIN CONWAY for & in consideracon of Fifteen hundred pounds of good Tobb: in hand received assigne & sett over unto WM: REYNOLDS of the sd County all my right & interest to the sd Patent and Land therein menconed, Except wt.: of the said Land lyes & falls into a certain tract of land formerly by the sd CONWAY surveyed for Mr. SYMON MILLER. being in or joyning to the sd Patent, I the sd EDWIN CONWAY do warrant unto the said WILLIAM his heirs and assignes all the sd Patent of Land and the Land therein menconed except what is aforee Excepted, from me the sd EDWIN CONWAY my heirs & assignes or any other persons clayming under me, And I the sd EDWIN CONWAY do further covenant with the sd WM.       JM Note: You got to this postem before I deleted it. I'm not sure who this William Reynolds is. I believe William Reynolds that d. 1700 in Richmond was born abt. 1655 and was the brother of Cornelius d. 1685 in Rappahannock Co. I have seen Elizabeth named as William Reynold's wife but no notes or souces. If it were true with Anne Marshall as witness to his will it could have been Elizabeth Merryman dau. of John and Audrey.
