Sep 6, 1754 from Samuel Williamson Briscoe of St. Mary's County, son of Eleanor Briscoe, late of CC, decd, Hezekiah Briscoe of CC, son and executor of the afd Eleanor Briscoe, both of Maryland, planters, to John Lewellin of St. Mary's County, for 10,000 lbs of tobacco, all that plantation or tenement of land in CC, being part of Westwood Manor, which tract was, on Sep 5, 1738, leased by sd Lewellin to the above sd Eleanor Briscoe for the term of 21 years, enrolled among the records of CC, bounded by the south line of sd Manor, the land of Charles Love, containing 102 acres. Aug 2, 1755,from Philip Briscoe of St Mary's County, planter, to Hez" Briscoe of CC, for 8000 lbs of tobacco, part of a tract of land called Morrissey Venture, lying in CC on the north side of the Swamp falling into Buds Cr, which sd land was formerly granted to Rich Morress, containing about 176 acres. Signed - Philip Briscoe. Wit - Robt Yates, Jas Nevison. Chloe, the wife of Philip Briscoe, said that she voluntarily acknowledged this deed. Recorded Jan 10, 1756.
