In Obedience to an order of Stafford County Court dated June 15, 1743 to us directed to appraise and divide the Estate of WILLIAM CHANDLER FOWKE deced We the subscribers being first sworn before MOTT DONIPHAN Gent one of his Majesties Justices of the Peace for the County afsd met at house of said Fowke deced (the Estate being first appraised as by Inventory will appear) and divided the Estate according to order of Court by Setting it in three Equal Parts, one of which remains in the hands of Mrs. JANE FOWKE Widow and Admix of said William deced and the other two parts being in the hands of Capt. At the request of Samuel Middleton, the following deed was recorded on Jul 31, 1751.
May 28, 1751 from William Hutchison of CC, planter, and Jane, his wife, and Ann Hanson, to Samuel Middleton of CC, planter, for 100 £sterling, and for divers other good
causes, a tract of land in CC called Wheelers Purchase, it being the remaining part of a tract of land now in possession of William Eilbeck, bounded by John Wheeler's part, the woods, Potomack River, containing and laid out for about 300 acres. Signed - William Hutchison, Jane (X her mark) Hutchison, Anne Hanson. Wit - Thos Stone, Rd Harrison. The deed was acknowledged by Mr. William Hutchison & Madam Ann Hanson. Jane, the wife of William Hutchison released her dower.
