Charles County Maryland Land Record Liber X#2, 1743-1744; Page 48. At the request of James Maddox of CC, the following deed was recorded on Dec 3, 1743.
Oct 18, 1743 from Dan Macdaniel Jr of Orange County, Virginia, planter, to James Maddox of CC. Richd Standforth of CC, owning a certain tract of land called Thompsons Hope, containing about 1,33 acres, lying in CC, on or about Sep, 1734, by a deed of mortgage, conveyed the land to William Feast of the City of London, Wax Chandler. Said William Feast, by his deed dated Jan 27, 1740, conveyed the land and the deed of mortgage to all of his estate to James Russell. James Russell, for 10,000 lbs tobacco, sold to Danl MacDaniel all the sd tract of land called Thompsons Hope and the sd deed of mortgage, by virtue of the said deed. Now this deed witnesses that the said Daniel MacDaniel, for 9000 lbs tobacco, has sold to James Maddox, all the said tract of land called Thompsons Hope and the mortgage. Signed - Edward (E his mark) Perrie, Margaritt (| her mark) Perrie. Wit - Geo Dent, John Corry. Margaret, the wife of sd Edward Perrie, acknowledged the deed. Recorded Nov 14, 1753.

Whereas Richard Standforth of CC, owning a certain tract of land called Thompsons Hope, containing about 193 acres in CC, did, on about Oct 3, 1734, by a deed of mortgage, convey sd tract of land to William Feast of the City of London, waxhandler; and whereas the proviso in the afd deed of mortgage not being complied with, sd Feast, by his deed dated Jan 27, 1740, conveyed sd tract of land and sd deed of mortgage, and all his right to sd land, to James Russell of Prince Georges County. Sd Russell, by deed, has since conveyed the land and the deed of mortgage and all the right of sd Russell to the land, to Daniel McDaniel. Sd McDaniel, by deed dated Oct 18, 1743, conveyed sd tract of land and the deed of mortgage and all his right, to afd James Maddox.
