Mar 15, 1722 from John Ashman of CC, planter, & Anna, his wife, to Richard Barber of CC, shipwright, for 1000 lbs of tobacco and for divers other good causes,"all that tract of land lying in CC, next adjoining to the lands of Jno Gooch, bounded by the land of Wm Hatch, land formerly surveyed for Rich'd Beamont called Walingford, thence to the first bound tree, containing and laid out for about 90 acres and called Woodbridge. If any of the before bargained land shall happen to lie within or be included by the lines of any of the lands formerly belonging to the afd William Hatch, then such part so included to deemed to be without the purview of this deed. [Faded] At the request of Francis Hamersley of CC, the following deed was recorded this Apr 2, 1733.
Jan 12, 1732 from Wm Hawton of CC, planter, to Francis Hamersley of CC, Gent. The afd Wm, being possessed in his demesne of fee of 200 acres in CC on the west side of Piscataway River, and formerly granted to John Courts by Patent dated Aug 18, 1658, bounded by a little marsh called -ousts Marsh, the mouth of a Cr, a hollow called Courts cllow. Sd Wm, by his CC deed dated May 7, 1730, conveyed to
John Parnham of CC, merchant, 73 acres part of the afd 200 acres. The 73 acres is bounded by the land called Gouges Landing on Smoot's Cr near the fork of sd Cr. Now this deed witnesses that sd Wm Hawton, for and in consideration of 157 acres in Stafford County, Virginia conveyed from sd Francis to sd Wm in fee simple and 6000 lbs of tobacco by sd Francis to sd Wm and for divers other good causes, conveyed herein is 127 acres of land, being the remaining part of the afd 200 acres. Also, all of sd Wm's right to a tract of land in CC on the west side of Wococomoco [Wicomico] River, and adjoining to the afd land, bounded by a point at the mouth of a Cr commonly called Smoot's Cr, sd Cr which runs to the Landing of John Gooch, Ivy Point, containing about 30 acres.
