Spotsylvania County, Virginia Revolutionary Pensioners; [William Armstrong Crozier];
Augt. 7, 1832. John Almond of Spts. Ct., aged 77 years. Enlisted under Capt. Gregory Smith in King and Queen Co. in 1775 as a soldier for 3 years. Marched under Capt. Smith to Wms'burg. and thence to Yorktown and Gloucester town and thence to Guin's Island agst. Lord Dunmore where he joined 7th Va. Regt., commanded by Colo. Daingerfield. Marched to the North and joined Gen. Washington's Army in 1776; in Battle at Brandywine, Sept. 11, 1776, and Germantown, Oct.. 4; went into winter quarters at Valley Forge and discharged by orders of Genl. Washington. Refers to certificate of Wm. Campbell and Wm. Belden, R. L. Officers Va., accompanying this declaration.
