16 July 1756. Beamount Sutton of Culpeper County, planter, to Anthony Strother of King George County, merchant, and William Scott of the Town of Fredericksburg in Spotsylvania County, merchant. Mortgage to secure £12.5.10 current money due Anthony Strother and £54.15.4-1/2 current money due William Scott. Beaumount Sutton by the will of Christopher Sutton his late father is entitled to one-sixth part of the several Negro slaves following [nineteen named] after the death of Hope Sutton, widow of Christopher Sutton, deceased, and is willing to secure the payment of the sums with interest.
