IN THE NAME OF GOD Amen. I SAMUEL ARELL of the County of Fairfax and State of Virginia being of sound mind and memory and in good health but considering the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time it may happen, do make the following devise of all my worldly property.
Item. I give and devise to DOROTHY CRAVER my affectionate and loving consort, all my present Estate to her and her heirs forever; except such part as I may dispose of hereafter and herein;
Item I give to her also during her natural life my black woman, Kate. and her Daughter Celia, and their future issue and on the death of my affectionate companion, DOROTHY, I give freedom to my black woman, Kate and her Daughter, Celia. and their issue forever ...
Item. I give Freedom to my black man, Aaron after he has faithfully served my loving Companion, DOROTHY, for three years after the first day of January 1795;
Item. I give and devise to my dear consort DOROTHY, during her natural life all my real Estate and all my rents arising out of lands, lotts or tenements, as well rents that are due me at my death as rents that may become due thereafter;
Item. after the death of my dear Companion, DOROTHY, I give and devise all my Estate
of whatever kind which then or hereafter I may be heir to, to RICHARD ARELL and CHRISTIANNA ARELL Son and Daughter of DAVID and PHEBE ARELL, to be equally divided between them, to them and their heirs forever; And in case either of them die before they arrive at full age, I give and devise to the Survivor that part left by the dying Child, and his and her heirs forever; and in case both should die before they arrive to full age, I give and devise my Estate after the death as before observed of my loving Consort, DOROTHY. to be divided among the Children of GEORGE and MARY JENKINS, my Sister, of WILLIAM HUNTER and KELLY HUNTER and of CYRUS and ELIZABETH COPPER to them and their heirs forever;
Item. It is my will that that part of my Estate left to CHRISTIANA ARELL on her arrival to full age shall be received by her on her marriage should it happen before that time in case of the death of my Consort DOROTHY, provided also that such marriage is made with the Consent of her Uncle, PETER CAVERLY, whom I hereby appoint (agreeably to the authority vested in me by her Father's Last Will and Testament) her Guardian and also Guardian to his Nephew, RICHARD ARELL, her Brother;
Item. I give to SAMUEL ARELL MARSTELLER, Son of PHILIP and CHRISTIANA D. MARSTELLER after the death of my Consort, DOROTHY. the rents of CORRYELLE and MURRAYs Lotts amounting in the whole to Twenty two pounds, to him and his heirs forever; but should he die before he arrives to full age, to any other Son they may Christen SAML. ARELL, but should none be so christened, it shall go to RICHARD and CHRISTIANA ARELL and their heirs forever;
Lastly, I hereby publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament revoking all
others heretofore made or declared and establishing this to be my last and authentic
Will and Testament; Witness my hand and seal this first day of November 1794.
I appoint PETER CAVERLY, Doctor ELISHA C. DICK and PHILIP G. MARSTELLER my Executors
not doubting but they will have this my last Will and Testament fully and completely
carried into effect

Codicil: I give my Watch to my Nephew, RICHARD ARELL also the choice of my Colts
for a riding creature and to his Sister, CHRISTIANA, I give a Colt for her to ride and a
Cow and Calf; The foregoing Will and Codicil signed sealed published and declared
in the presence of us to be the last Will of SAML. ARELL

At a Court held for the County of Fairfax 20th December 1795
This Last Will and Testament of SAMUEL ARELL deceased, was presented in Court, and
the same having been proved by the Oath of ROBERT T. HOOE and CHARLES TURNER to be
wholly writ by the said Testator. and signed by him. is on motion ordered to be recorded
