      being now in the City of New York, sick, revoke and annul all former wills, except so far as it relates to a former will by me made in London, ratify a codicil or writing by me made and published in the city of New York on the 8th November last past.
      To nephew Robert Bull, son of Robert Bull of Leith in Scotland, timber merchant, that dwelling house in Wardrop's Court in the lawn market at Edinburg afsd., whereon my late father lived; 2 houses in the same lawn on the first story under the sd. house with the back yard adjoining to the sd. land with the work houses belonging thereto, now or late in the possession of Ingles Joyner. To have and to hold the same to him, sd. nephew Robert Bull and hrs.
      To John Bowles, son of Mary Bowles, 300 #. sterl.
      To wife Lattice Wardrop, all the balance of estate, personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever.

      Dec 22, 1748 from Benjamin Tasker of Annapolis, Esq, Agent and Receiver General for the Proprietary of Maryland, with the approval of Samuel Ogle, Governor of Maryland, to George Maxwell, merchant in CC, the lease of a parcel of land in CC in his Lordship's Manner of Calverton, between the lands of Capt Charles Sommerset Smith, John Anderson, & Avis Cave on swansons Cr. Said land was formerly held by Cornelius Norton, deceased, for about 102 acres, as per certificate of lease formerly held by sd Cornelius Norton, deceased, may more fully appear. This lease is for the natural life of George Maxwell and during the natural life of James Wardrop, merchant in Prince Georges County, and for the natural life of Lettice Wardrop, wife to the said James Wardrop. The yearly rent is 10 shillings sterling money of GB. Maxwell may assign the land [with the permission] of the

      Jan 19, 1744[/5) from Thomas Colmore of London, merchant, to John Wardrop of Maryland, merchant, for 10 £10 shillings sterling, a lot whereon Maj:r Thomas Crabb formerly kept store, lying near the New Town of Benedict in CC, being part of the Old Town heretofore laid out and known by the name of Benedict Town, adjoining the Patuxent River. Sd Colemore hereby appoints Mr. Richard Keen and Mr. John Chesley of Maryland, his lawful attorneys, to acknowledge this deed. Signed - Thos Colmore. Wit - Thos Glover, James Hall.

      This Indenture Made this Twenty ninth day of August in the Year of our Lord One Thousand seven hundred and fifty two Between Doctor Andrew Scott of Baltimore County on the one part and Mr James Wardrop Merch.t of Prince Georges County both of the Province of Maryland on the other part Witnesseth that the said Andrew Scott for and in Consideration of the sum of seventy Pounds due to him by my bond due to him Sixteen Months before the date hereof and five shillings in hand paid by the said James Wardrop the Receipt whereof the said Andrew Scott doth hereby Acknowledge He the said Andrew Scott hath granted Bargained and sold Aliened released and Confirmed and by these Presents doth bargain Grant and Sell alien release and Confirm unto the said James Wardrop his heirs and Assigns for ever all that Tract or Parcell of Land called Saturn lying and being in Frederick County Containing Two hundred Acres more or Less As also all that Parcell or Tract of Land called Venus lying in foresaid County Contained Two hundred Acres more or less still reserving to the Adventurers in the Coper Mine upon Venus their Respective Shares and Dividends as heretofore agreed upon together with all and Singular the Appurtenances thereunto belonging As also all the Right Interest Title and Claim whatsoever of him the said Andrew Scott his heirs and Assigns of in and to the said Premisses and every part and Parcell thereof To have and to hold the said two Tracts of Land called Saturn and Venus with the above Exceptions and every part thereof unto the said James Wardrop his heirs and Assigns for ever and the said Andrew Scott for himself and his heirs and against all and every Person and Persons Whatsoever Claiming by from or under him or them to the said James Wardrop his heirs and Assigns shall and will warrant and for ever Defend by these Presents In Witness Whereof the said Andrew Scott to these Presents hath set his hand and seal day and Year above Written

      This Indenture made the ningth Day of April in the Year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and sixty two Between John Buchanan of London Merchant of the one part and Ignatius Digges of Esquire Whereas James Wardrop late of the Province of Maryland in America deceased did by Indentures of Lease and Release made and Dated on or about the first and second Days of August One thousand seven hundred and fifty four for the considerations therein respectively mentioned Grant Bargain Sell Assign Transfer Set over alien Remise Release and Confirm unto the said John Buchanan his Heirs Executors administrators and Assigns amongst other Lands Tenements Hereditaments and things All that part of a Lot of Ground in upper Marlbro' on which stands the store lately possessed by John M.cGruder with a Warehouse and old Dwelling House thereon the said Part of the said Lott to be divided from the other part by a line drawn from the street down through the whole Depth of the Lott Paralell to the North West Gable End of the store at the Distance of Eighteen feet from the said Gable, and the outside Brick Chimney being Included in the said eighteen feet with all Improvements on the said Lott or Piece of Ground whatever under & subject

      Nevertheless to the several Trusts Conditions Provisoes and Covenants contained in the said Indenture of Release as by the said Indentures of Lease & Release relation being thereto had may more fully appear And Whereas after default made by the said James Wardrop in Payment according to the Provisoes and Covenants in the said Recited Indenture of Release and also since the Death of the said James Wardrop He the said John Buchanan according to the said Recited Deed and their true intent and meaning, did set up and Expose to Sale the said part of a Lot of Ground with the appurtenances at public Vendue after due Notice thereof given, at which Vendue He the said Ignatius Digges was the best and highest Bidder at and for the sum of Two hundred and Ninety one Pounds

      Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said John Buchanan for and in consideration of the said sum of Two hundred and Ninety one Pounds Sterling Money to him in hand paid by the said Ignatius Digges the Receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge Hath Given Granted Bargained Sold Aliened Remised Released and Confirmed and by these presents Doth Give Grant Bargain Sell Alien Remise Release and Confirm unto the said Ignatius Digges his Heirs and Assigns All that the aforesaid Part of a Lott of Ground in upper Marlbro on which Hands the store lately possessed by John M.cGruder with a Ware House and old Dwelling House thereon the said part of the Lott to be Divided from the other part by a line from the street down through the whole Depth of the Lott Paralell to the North West Gable End of the store at the Distance of Eighteen feet from the said Gable and the outside Brick Chimney being included in the Said Eighteen Feet with all Improvements on the said Lott or piece of Ground whatever Together with all Houses Edifices Buildings Gardens Improvements, Advantages and Appurtenances whatsoever to the said Lott of Ground belonging or in any Wise appertaining and the Revertion and Revertions Remainder and Remainders Rents Issues and profits thereof and every part and Parcell thereof and all the Estate Right Title Interest use trust Possession property claim and Demand whatsoever either in Law or Equity of him the said John Buchanan of in or to the same and every part and parcel thereof To have and To Hold the said Lott of Ground and every ^part^ and parcel thereof with its Rigths Members and Appurtenances to him the said Ignatius Digges his Heirs and Assigns to the only proper Use and Behoof of the said Ignatius Digges his Heirs and Assigns for ever and to or for no other use intent or purposes Whatsoever And the said John Buchanan for himself his Heirs Executors and Administrators doth hereby covenant & grant To and with the aforesaid Ignatius Digges his Heirs and Assigns that he the said John Buchanan and his Heirs the said Lot of Ground and premisses to him the said Ignatius Digges his Heirs and Assigns from and against him the said John Buchanan and his Heirs and all and every person and persons whatsoever claiming or to claim by from or under him them or any of them shall and will warrant and for ever defend And the said John Buchanan doth hereby constitute ordain impower and authorize James Dick of Maryland Merchant and Cap.t ^Judson^ Coolidge of Maryland or either of them jointly and severally to appear in any court or courts in the province of Maryland aforesaid or before any Justice or Justices Magistrate or Magistrates of the said Province or any Co^u^nty or Counties thereof or other person or persons whatsoever of the said province and in or before such Court or Courts

County aforesaid Widow as by the Said Dinah Ayre her Deed to the Said Patrick Hepburn Bearing Date the Twenty Ninth Day of April in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred & Twenty Six for the Consideration thereof Expressed and According to the Meets & Bounds expressed in a Deed from James Moore to Thomas Box Bearing date the fifteenth Day of February One Thousand Seven Hundred as by the Said Deed Reference being had there unto May More fully and at Large appear and also all that parcell of Land being part of or adjoining to Upper Marlboro Town (For land description see deed) Containing and laid out for Two Thousand four Hundred Square feet of Land and lying and being in Prince Georges County in the Province aforesaid and the said James Wardrop did in and by his last Will and Testament in Writing Give devise and bequeath the said Lands and Tenements above mentioned with the appurtenances there unto Belonging to his the Wife Lettice Wardrop her Heirs and Assigns for ever as by the Said Will upon Record in the Progortive office of the Province of Maryland May More fully Appear and whereas the said Lettice Refused to accept of the Lands Devs'd to her as aforesaid as appears likewise upon Record in the Said Progrogative Office and is thereby Intitled to one third Part of all her said Husbands Real Estate and Clamins her Dowry therein and that the said Addam Thomson in her Right is Seized thereof and Whereas also it hath been a greed between the Said Adam Thomas and Robert Bull Heir at Law as aforesaid of the Said James Wardrop That he should convey unto the Said Adam Thomason and his Heirs and Assigns all his Right Title & Interest Reverson & Reversons Remainder and Remainders of in & to all the Lands Houses and other the premises with the Appurtinances and of in and to all other Lands and Houses he has a right to in the province of Maryland as Heir at Law of the aforesaid James Wardrop for and in Consideration of the Sum of Three hundred and Twenty five pounds Sterling Now This Indenture Witnesseth That The Said Robert Bull for and in Consideration of the Aforesaid Sum of Three Hundred and Twenty five pounds Sterling to him in hand paid or Secured to be paid bu the Said Adam Thomson the receipt where of the Said Robert bull doth hereby Acknowledge Hath Given Granted Bargained Sold Aliened Enfeoffed Confirmed & Made overt and by these presents he the Said Robert Bulll doth for himself and his Heirs Give Grant Bargain Sell Alien Enfeoff Confirm and Make over unto the Said Adam Thomason his Heirs and Assigns for ever all the Said Lands Dwelling House Kitchen and all other House or Houses Garden Yars Warehouses and all other the Premises with the Appurtenances and also all other Lands and Houses He Said Robert Bull as Heir at Law of the aforesaid James Wardrop has any Estate Right Title or Interest of in and to in the Province of Maryland And the Reversion & Reversions Remainder & Remainders and all Rents due from any person or persons whatsoever for all or any of the Said Lands Tenements Houses or Warehouses from the Decease of the aforesaid James Wardrop at the present Date as will as for ever and all Issues and Profits there of and of every Part and parcell thereof and all the Estate Right Title and Interest Whatsoever of him the Said Robert Bull as Heir at law of the aforesaid James Wardrop of in and to the Said Lands Houses and Premises aforesaid with the Appurtenances To Have & To Hold the Said Severall Tracts or Parcells of Land Dwelling Houses Ware houses and other Houses with the appurtenances unto the Said Adam Thomason his Heirs and Assigns forever to the only proper use And Behoof of the Said Adam Thomason his Heirs and Assigns and to no other use intent or purpose whatsoever and the said Robert Bull doth for himself his Heirs Executors and Administrators Covenant Promise Grant and agree to and with the Said Adam Thompson his Heirs and assigns That he the Said Robert Bull and his Heirs the Said Several Tracts or parcells of land Dwelling House Warehouse and other Houese and other premises with the appurtenances against Him the said Robert Bull and his Heirs as also against all other person or persons Claiming or to claim hereby or under him shall and Will Warrant and forever Defend and Administrators further Covenant promise Grant and Agree to and With the Said Adam Thomson his Heirs and Assigns That he the Said Robert Bull Shall and Will at all Times hereafter upon the Reasonable Request and at the Proper Costs and Charges of the Said Adam Thomson his Heirs or Assigns make do and Execute or Cause or procure to be made done and Executed all and every Such further and other Lawful and Reasonalbe Act and Acts thing & things Devise or Devises Assureance and assurances Conveyance and Conveyances in the Law Whatsoever for the further better & More perfect Giving Granting and Conveying and assuring of all and Singular the Said Several Tracts or parcells of Lands Dwelling House Ware house and other Houses and other the premises with their appurtenances unto the Said Adam Thomson his Heirs & Assigns to the only proper use & Behoof of the Said Adam Thomson his Heirs and Assigns for ever according to the true Intent and meaning of these presents as by the Said Adam Thomason his Heirs or Assigns or his or their Council Learned in the Law Shall be reasonably devise advis'd and Requested In Witness Whereof the party first above mentioned hath Hereunto Set his hand and Affixed his seal the Day & year first above

      On the Back of which Deed was thus Indorsed On the Eighth Day of June one Thousand Seven hundred & Sixty five The within mentioned Robert Bull personally appeared before me one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court and Acknowledged the Within Instrument of Writing to be his act and Deed to and for the uses Intents and Purposes within Mentioned and the Several Tracts and parcells of land Dwelling Warehouse and other Houses and premises with the Appurttenances to be the Estate Right Title and Interest of him the said Adam Thomson his Heirs and Assigns according to the true Intent and meaning of the said Deed and the act of Assembly in Such Cases Made & provided Before J. Hepburn June the 8th 1765 Then Received of the Within Mentioned Adam Thomson the Sum of Three hundred and Twenty five pounds Sterling Being the Consideration Money within Mentioned Witness my hand the Day & year above Written
