Daniel Murphey and Thomas Dyson Sr preferred to this Court the following petition: Your petitioner[s], having had away [no way?] to their Parish Church, Courthouse, nearest Landing, Water mill &c, ever since the situation of the Plantation on which they now dwell, through the land on which Thomas Burch Jr now dwells, which way the sd Thomas Burch has lately stopped up by running a fence across it and forbidding your petitioners to pass that way as usual, so that they cannot pass to the places above mentioned, without being compelled to go, viz, the sd Thos. Dyson 2 miles and the sd Daniel Murphey, 3 miles out of the way to come to the sd places. Therefore they pray your Worships to take the premises into consideration and order that the sd Thomas keep sufficient passable gates to his enclosure, fit for rolling tobacco, passage of carts or riding, and not to obstruct their ancient way through his land so as to render it impassable for the occasions afd. Signed - Thomas (T his mark) Dyson, Daniel. Murphey.
