THIS INDENTURE made the 16th day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty Between WILLIAM COVINGTON JUNR. and AMEY his Wife of the County of Essex and Parish of Southfarnham of one part and FRANCIS ATTWOOD of the same County and Parrish of other part Witnesseth that said WILLIAM COVINGTON JUNR. and AMEY his Wife for sum of Eighty pounds Current money of Virginia do sell unto the said FRANCIS ATTWOOD his heirs and assigns forever three hundred and Ten acres of land being in the County and Parish aforesaid and hounded Beginning at a Maple on the North side of BESTLAND RUN at the mouth of the READY BRANCH and runing thence up the Water Course to a Maple in the branch thence South along an old marked line to a Gum in the BESTLAND SWAMP thence down the water course of the Swamp to the beginning To Have and To Hold the said three hundred and Ten acres of land unto the said FRANCIS ATTWOOD his heirs and assigns forever. In Witness whereof the said WILLIAM COVINGTON JUNR. and AMEY his Wife have set their hands and seals

At a Court held for Essex County at Tappahannock on the 17th day of March 1740 WILLIAM COVINGTON JUNR acknowledged this Deed Indented and the Livery of Seisin thereon Endorsed to FRANCIS ATTWOOD to be his acts and deeds which were admitted to record, And also the same day AMEY the Wife of said WILLIAM (being first privately Examined by WILLIAM ROANE Gent) freely relinquished her right of Dower in the Lands conveyed to the said FRANCIS ATTWOOD
