      1711-1714 Essex County, Virginia Deed & Will Book 14, Part 1; [Virginia Colonial Abstracts Vol 8, Beverley Fleet]; Page 240. Lease and Release, 26 and 28 April 1714. Phillip Graffort, mariner, and Pollatia his wife of St. Pauls Parish in the County of Stafford in the Colony of Virginia, sell Mr. Lawrence Taliaferro, Gent., of St. Marys Par., Essex Co., 1/3 part of a tract of land lying in the forest in Essex County, part of a Dividend formerly granted Mr Enoch Doughty by patent dated 15 June 1675 of 4763 acres, bounded according to patent, which 1/3 was formerly in lawful possession of William Berry of Richmond Co., who conveyed it in fee simple to Benjamin Newton of Stafford County by deed dated 11 April 1690, which land Benj. Newton by his will dated 3 January 1709 gave the tract of land to his daughter Pollatia now the wife of Phillip Graffort.
