      Will of Richard Dudley of Southfarnham Parish in the County of Essex being very sick and weak in body., dated 10 Dec, 1716.
      Unto my beloved daughter Elizabeth Gatewood twenty shillings
      sterling and likewise to my daughter Dorothy Gatewood twenty shillings.
      Unto my dearly beloved wife Elizabeth Dudley during her life my whole estate, all my Negros, and after her decease to my beloved, son Pete Dudley.
      Peter shall take care to see his three sisters Frances, Mary and Margaret Dudley be brought up until they be at age.

      1711-1714 Essex County, Virginia Deed & Will Book 14, Part 1; [Virginia Colonial Abstracts Vol 8, Beverley Fleet]; Page 268. Deed. August 1714. Thomas Bell of So. Farnham Par. exchanges Henry Gatewood 125 acres of land, being part of a tract of 1100 acres formerly granted John May of Essex Co., 20 Oct 1704, and by May sold to Tho. Tinsley of Essex Co. and by Tinsley sold to Thos Bell by deed dated 10 Apl. 1710.
      The foregoing being in exchange for 50 acres in South Farnham Par., it being the remaining part of 75 acres given the said Henry Gatewood by his father John Gatewood's will dated 14 Nov. 1706, and adj. the land of Mr Henry Awbrey and Colo Thomas Gutteridge, and also adj the land of William Allen.
