      THIS INDENTURE made the seventeenth day of June in the Reign of our Sovereign Lord King George the second &c. and in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Fourty five Between WILLIAM BASKETT of the County of CAROLINE of the one part and AUGUSTINE OWEN of the County of MIDLESEX of the other part: Witnesseth that the said WILLIAM BASKETT for diverse good causes him thereunto moving but especially for the just sum of Five shillings Sterl money of Great Brittain have sold and to farm lett unto the said AUGUSTINE OWEN all a certain parcell of land being on the South side of Rappa. River in the Parish of SOUTHFARNHAM in Essex County and Collony of Virginia, containing Two hundred acres by estimation more or less, the said Land formerly was held and possessed by one ROGER PRICHARD deced, being his the sd. PRICHARDs own Lands at the time of his decease, the sd. Land being bounded by & on the Land of RICE JONES and WILLIAM BLEWFORD on MIDDLESEX Line and a Line called and known HICKEYs line, and another line of PEARCEs, containing Two hundred acres; Together with all houseing fenceing yards fields meadows and also all profits belonging unto the sd. AUGUSTINE OWEN his Executors and assigns dureing the full term of one whole year fully to be compleated paying to the said WILLM. BASKETT his heirs the Rent of one eare of Indian Corn if the same be lawfully demanded to be paid by the Tenth of June next insueing on Demand, to the intent that the sd AUGUSTINE OWEN may be in actuall possession of the sd. Land and premisses and that by virtue of this present Lease and of the Statute for transferring uses into possession he the said AUGUSTINE OWEN may be the better enabled to take and except of a grant and release of the said Land from him thesaid WM. BASKETT and ELIZABETH his Wife and their heirs unto the sole use of the said AUGUSTINE OWEN and to his heirs forever. In Witness whereof the sd. WILLM. BASKETT severally have sett their hands and seals

      Memdm. That on the Seventeen day of June 1745, that quiet and peaceable possession was given by the above sd. WILLIAM BASKETT unto AUGUSTINE OWEN and to his heirs &c by Turff and Twiff parcell of the above said premisses made by Key and Door of the Dwelling House according to the Intent of this above Lease as Witness my hand and seal dated as above written W. BASKETT
      At a Court held for Essex County atTappahannock on the 20th day of August 1745 WILLIAM BASKETT acknowledged this his Lease Indented to AUGUSTINE OWEN with ye livery of seizen thereon endorsed to be his act and deed which on motion of the said AUGUSTINE was admitted to Record and is truely recorded

      THIS INDENTURE made the Eighteen day of June in the year of our Lord Christ Anno one thousand seven hundred and forty five Between WILLIAM BASKETT of the County of CAROLINE of one part and AUGUSTINE OWEN of the County of MIDDLESIX of the other part; Witnesseth that the said WM. BASKETT in consideration of Five Shillings Sterling hath sold and to farm lett a parcel! of Land on the South side of Rappa. River containing Two hundred acres together with all houseing meadows waters and advantages to the said land belonging; To have and to hold the term of one year to the intent that the sd. AUGUSTINE OWEN may be in the actuall possession and that by virtue of the sd Lease and this present Indenture as also the Statute for transferring uses into possession the said AUGUSTINE OWEN may be enabled to take a grant and release of the sd. Land from him the sd. WILLM. BASKETT and ELIZABETH his Wife.
      Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said WILLIAM BASKET for the just sum of Fifty pounds current money of Virginia doth hereby clearly acquit the said AUGUSTINE OWEN and doth transfer the above recited Land from claim of him the said WILLM. BASKETT his heirs, Furthermore and foreprizing that one moyetye or half part of the aforesd Two hundred acres of Land and premisses being given by the Last Will and Testament in writing by the abovesaid ROGER PRICHARD to his Daughter, ELIZABETH, wife of THOMAS FEILD to her and her heirs forever, which is admitted to Record May 16. day 1721, that said part moyetye of Land containg One hundred acres by estimation he the said WM. BASKETT doth absolutely warrant from the claim at all times from him the sd. WM. BASKETT his heirs and assigns, and every other persons forever; To have and to hold without eviction of or any other incumbrance of him the sd WILLIAM BASKETT his heirs or any other persons and doth further grant that he the sd. WILLM. BASKETT will at any time hereafter dureing the space of seven years next insueing upon request and cost and charges in the Law of him the sd. AUGUSTINE OWEN, make and execute such further things in the Law for the better conveying of the land paying unto our Sovereign Lord the King his hiers the Quit Rents that shall become due for the said Land. In Witnes whereof the parties set their hands and seals

      Memdm., June the eighteenth seventeen hundred and fourty five, Then received by
      me Fifty pounds cash of said AUGUSTINE OWEN in full satisfaction for the said Land

      KETT set his hand and fixt my seal
