      THIS INDENTURE made the Seventh day of July in the year of Our Lord God one thousand seven hundred twenty and four and in the tenth year of the Reigne of Our Sovereigne Lord George by the grace of God of Great Brittain France and Ireland, King, Defender of the faith &c., Between JOHN WILKINS of the Parish of Saint George in County of Spotsylvania, Planter, of one part and DANNETT ABNEY, SENR. of Saint Margarett and County of KING WILLIAM, Cooper, and DANNETT ABNEY, JUNR_ of Parish of Saint George and County of Spotsylvania, Carpenter, of the other part; Witnesseth that JOHN WILKINS in consideration of four thousand six hundred pounds of tobacco to him in hand paid or secured to he paid by Bill part from the said DANNETT ABNEY, SENR, and the said DANNETT ABNEY, JUNR. and another piece of land of two hundred and eighty acres more or less situate in the parish of Saint Paul Parish in HANOVER County acknowledged in HANOVER County Court by the said DANNETT ABNEY, SENR. to JOHN WILKINS as by the Record will more att large appear, the receipt whereof JOHN WILKINS doth hereby acknowledge, hath and by these presents doth bargain and sell unto DANNETT ABNEY, SENR. and DANNETT ABNEY, JUNR. their heirs one parcell of land containing by estimation and survey four hundred acres scituate in Saint George Parish and County of Spotsylvania granted to JOHN WILKINS by Patent bounded; Begining at a corner red Oak and white Oak on a Ridge and running thence North three hundred and eight poles to a red oak and a white Oak on a High Ridge, thence West. two hundred and eight -poles to a corner white oak in a valley, thence South three hundred and eight poles to a corner Stake by a great Hiccory, thence East two hundred and eight poles to the corner red Oak and white Oak where it first began, To have and to hold the four hundred acres of land and premises with every of the appurtenances unto DANNETT ABNEY, SENR. and DANNETT ABNEY, JUNR. their heirs to be equally divided between them the lower two hundred acres to DANNETT ABNEY, SENR. and the upper two hundred acres to DANNETT ABNEY, JUNR. their heirs and to no other purpose, and JOHN WILKINS doth convey the parcell of land according to the purpose and meaning of these presents with all houses orchards and advantages to the same belonging, without the interruption of JOHN WILKINS his heirs clearly discharged from all encumbrances, the quittrents and services henceforth growing due and payable to Our Soveroigno Lord the King his heirs only pyr.eptpd, and JOHN WILKINS for himself and his heirs will warrant from the claim of any person, In Witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seal the day and year first above written

      Memorandum: That on the Second day of May in the year of Our Lord one thousand seven hundred and twenty four full and peaceable possession and seizen of all and singular the land tenements and hereditaments within granted or mentioned to be granted was delivered by JOHN WILKINS to DANNETT ABNEY SENR. and DANNETT ABNEY, JUNR. their heirs to hold to DANNITT ABNEY SENR. and DANNITT ABNEY JUNR. their heirs according to the force form and effect of this Deed, in the presence of JAMES COX and JOHN HAWKINS witnesses July 7th 1724

      At a Court held for Spotsylvania County on Tuesday the 7th day of July 1724 MARY WILKINS's Power of Attorney being first proved by the Oaths of JOHN KIMBROW, JOHN GAMBELL and JOHN DAWLEY unto JAMES CONNER, the said CONNER did by vertue threof acknowledge all the said MARY WILKINS's Right of Dower of her said Husband's Land unto the said ABNEYs which is admitted to Record Test JOHN WALLER Clk.       Oct. 2, 1733. Dannit Abney, the elder, of Spts. Co., planter, and Mary, his wife, and Dannitt Abney, the younger, of Hanover County, planter, and Mary, his wife, to Humphrey Hill of King William Co., Gent. Whereas John Wilkins was granted 400 a. in King William Co., now Spts. Co., by pat. dated June 2, 1722, and by deed dated July 7, 1724, said Wilkins conveyed to Dannit Abney, the Elder, and Dannit Abney, the Younger, the sd. parcel or tract of land, for consideration therein named, etc. £80 curr., the Abneys convey this land to sd. Humphrey Hill, etc. Witesses: Roderick Gordon, Thomas Hill, Thomas Todd, Joseph Woolfolk, Anthony Rhodes, Junr. Oct. 2, 1733.
