      In the Name of God Amen. I ANTHONY HAYNIE of Culpeper County now being in perfect health and sound of memory doe make this my last Will and Testament twenty seccond day of December 1753 I mprim /s/ bequeath my Soul to almighty God .. and my Body Earth It is my desier that all my just Debts be first payd. Item I give unto my Son SPENCER all that part of my land in Prince William County between the Spring Branch and Carters line ..
      Item I give to my son BRIDGOR the remainder of my land in Prince William County from the sd Run to Youngs line .. and if my son bridgor should Die witnout an lawfull heir that then my will is that my land bequeathed shal desend to my son RICHARD.
      Item I give unto my son CHARLES my negro girl cold fillis but not to be delivered tell my Executors shal think fitt.
      Item I give unto my Daughter ANN STROTHER my negro girl cold Hanah to be delivered when my Executors shall think fitt.
      Item my will and Desier is that all the rest of my Estate Personald and Reall after my debts are paid be att the Disposall of my Executor during hir life, my desier is that my Estate may not be appraised, my will is that my Estate remaining after the decease of my Executor be equelly Devided between my three Daughters ELIZABETH and WENNEFRED and JANE and my three youngest sons RICHARD and JOHN and WILLIAM and if any one of the six fore mentioned children chance to marry in the lifetime of my Executor she may dispose of any part of the Estate shal think fitt for there subsistences, it is my diser my three sons be put out to such trades as they are more desierous of when they are at the age of sixteen.
      Lastly I do appoint my loving Wife ELIZABETH HAYNIE my hole and sole Executor of my hole Estate personall and Reall dur ing her life and I do hear by declear this to be my last Will and Testament .. in Witness whereof .. the day month and year within Ritten.       At Court held for County of Culpeper on Thursday the 21st day of February 1760
      The last Will & Testament of Anthony Haynie deceased was exhibited to the Court by Elizabeth Hayanie Relict & Executrix therein named. It being proved to the Court to be the Decedents own Hand Writing is therefore ordered to be recorded she having sworn to the same and given bond and security according to Law and on her motion Certificate is granted her for obtaining a Probat thereof in due form.

      The will of Elinor, second wife and relict of Captain Richard Haynie, was presented in Court for probate by Samuel Haynie, son of Richard and executor, 10 September 1754 (Northumberland County, Virginia, Court Record, p. 138). The following is an abstract of the will:
      Haynie, Elinor
      W. W. 29 March 1750 . . . . . W. P. 10 September 1754
      Son Anthony Haynie: ten shillings.
      Daughter Catherine Bearcroft: ten shillings.
      Grandson Spencer Pickeron: one shilling.
      Grandaughter Nelly Throp: one gold ring, one pair of silver Sleeve buttons, one silver thimble and bodkin.
      To the Heirs of Ormsby Haynie: one shilling.
      Son Samuel Haynie: two young negroes Andrew and Judey, one chest of drawers.
      To two daughters Winefred and Ann Haynie: the rest of my negroes.
      To three children Samuel, Winifred and Ann Haynie: my whole personal estate to be equally divided among them.
      Son Samuel Haynie and Friend Thomas Dameron executors.
      Witness: Thomas Dameron Jun, William Cooke, Peter Power and William Butcher.
      The estate of Elinor Haynie was inventoried and presented to Col. Spencer Ball, which was brought to the view of Thomas Dameron, Elisha Betts, and Thomas Harding.

      April the 21st 1743 In the Name of God Amen.
      I Jerrard Smith of King George County and Brunswick Parish being very sick and weak but in perfect sence and memory do make this my Last Will and Testament. In the Name of God, Amen: First, I bequeath my soul to Almighty God who gave it me and my body to the Earth from whence it came and there decently to be buried by [my] Executors and as for my estate I shall give as follows, viz:
      Item: I give to my loveing wife Purcillah Smith all my person-al estate during her life or while she lives my widdow and it is [my] desire likewise that she remain peaceably and quietly upon my land with her children during her widdowhood and I do leave my Loving Wife Purcilah Smith my whole and sole Executor my Loving friend Antho: Haynie but if my Loving Wife shall hereafter think fit for to marry that then it is my desire that my land with all the rest of my estate shall be sold at Publick Sale to the highest bidder for money and the amount arising therefrom to be equally divided between my wife and her children. Whereunto I have set my hand and fixed my seal the day and year above written.

      At a Court held for King George County on Friday the 1st day of July 1743.
      The Last Will & Testament of Jerrard Smith, Deceased, was presented into Court by Prissillah Smith his Executrix who made oath thereto and the same was proved by the oaths of John Smith and Margaret Smith and admitted to record, the said Prissillah together with John Simpson and John Pattison entered into bond in the sum of
      Two Hundred Pounds for the same.

WILLIAM THORNTON, Mr. DANIEL FRENCH and Mr. HUGH FRENCH .. part of the land granted by the grand Patent of JOHN and GEORGE MOTT .. if upon a survey the said land should not contain 272 acres then Anthony Haynie to refund back cash in proportion to such quantity as shall be wanting to Francis Strother
