Charles County Maryland Land Record Liber Z#2, 1744-1753; Page 327. At the request of John Hamill, the following instrument of writing was recorded on Apr 6, 1749.
Feb 20, 1748[/9] from Doctor John Curry of CC, to John Hamill of CC. Sd John Hamill and John Howard, late of CC deceased, formerly escheated and equally paid for a certain tract of land in CC called Partners Purchase, containing, by patent, 329 acres but now appears to contain, clear of prior surveys, but 252 acres. Said land hitherto has not been divided between the parties afd. The sd John Howard's part, by sundry alienations, devices, and conveyances became the property of sd John Curry. John Curry and John Hamill now have mutually agreed to and actually made an equal division of the above mentioned lands into 2 equal parts or moieties, to the end that John Curry and John Hamill might possess and enjoy their moieties. John Hamill will have the part of the land that lies on the south and east of a line bounded by Potomack River, the original patent, Neales Back. Hamill's part is bounded by Newmans Pretensions. Curry is to enjoy the rest of the land. Each moiety contains 126 acres. Now this deed witnesses, for the further confirmation of the afd division, that John Curry releases'to John Hamill, all the land as it is divided by the lines above described, containing about 126 acres. Signed - John Curry. Wit - sam chunn, William Bruce.
