      To all Christian People ., Know ye that I JOSEPH HINSON of parish Overwharton in county Stafford .. for full sum 17000 pounds of good Tobo by me already reced of THOMAS ELLZIE of the parish Overwharton in county afsd .. sell 300 acres of land lying on North side Potomack Creek it being the lowermost part of a parcel of land conta. 600 acres formerly granted unto EDWD. ROGERS as by Pattnt bearing date the 14th day October 1665 will more at large appear the land joining unto the land of CHARLES WOOD & extending up the said Creek side to the land of Mathews & so into the main woods for to contain the said 300 acres .. 6th March 1706.

      At a Court held 12th March 1706 This deed of sale was acknowledged by Jos.Hinson in person unto Thos. Elzey & MARGARET HINSON in her own proper person relinquished her right of dower to the same which is ordered to be recorded and is recorded.
      PP- 459-461 This Indenture made 2nd January 1726 between RALEIGH TRAVERSE Gent. County of Stafford of one part & WILLIAM SIMPSON and TRIPHENA his wife .. of other part for diverse good causes but especially for yearly rents hath Leased unto William Simpson and Tryphena his wife .. being the Plantation whereon said Simpson now dwells on North side of Patomack Creek & is bounded .. beginning at lower end of Holland Point Marsh at a marked Seecamore .. running Westly up Potoniack Creek to marked red oak standing about the middle of CHARLES WOODS marsh .. Northerly along Ridge to Capt. PEARSONS CHURCH ROAD thence along the Church Road to Tobaccobed Swamp .. to ffirst beginning .. containing 200 acres unto them .. during the term of their natural lives or longest liver .. doth oblige themselves to pay yearly the just and full quantity of 750 pounds of good Tobacco in Cask upon the said Plantation the 2nd day of .January .. oblige themselves sometime before the end of three years to plant 100 apple trees at 24 foot distance between each tree & also to keep them in a goad tite fence and also to trim .. not to make no west of timber excepting what Tobacco hoggsheads contains the Tobacco made upon the said plantation ..
