      Sarah Knott, Will, June 6, 1822; August 8, 1822
      I, Sarah Knott of CC, being sick and weak of body, but of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding;
      To daughter Ann Mattingly, negro William during her natural life and then to Sidney Ann Mattingly the d/o said daughter Ann Mattingly. Also negro John, 1 bed and bedstead and furniture.
      To son-in-law Edward Mattingly, in trust, negroes Rachael and George, the profits arising to be annually paid to my daughter Sarah Johnson wife of Walter Johnson during her life and after her death to her children.
      To grandson Alexander Johnson, 1 mare colt.
      To grandson George Washington Talbot {Talburtt}, negroes Harry and Margaret.
      Item: there is now a sum of money belonging to me (about 500 dollars) deposited in one of the banks of Washington City by my son-in-law Edward Mattingly, and which is the proceeds of the sale of certain negroes I formerly loaned to my daughter Cecelia Devaughn, now I give and bequeath the said sum unto my son-in-law Edward Mattingly in trust and applied to the purchase of a negro or negroes for the use of my daughter Cecelia Devaughn and after her death to her children.
      To son Charles Knott, 1 cow and calf, 1 bed, bedstead and furniture, and it is my wish and desire that his children should receive whatever may be the fair value of my house and lot situated near the public road and near the junction of the roads leading from Allens Fresh and Piccawaxon to Port Tobacco and now occupied and used as a school house. I hereby charge my son John Knott with the payment of the fair value of the house and lot, 12 months after my death.
      To grandson Charles Knott, 1 heifer.
      To granddaughter Harriet Knott, the bed, bedstead and furniture which I use.
      Item: my servant Anthony shall be sold by my executor and the money arising divided between my grandchildren Harrison Knott and George Knott and the children of my son John Knott and of my son Charles Knott.
      To daughter-in-law, Louisa Knott wife of John Knott, all my wearing apparel to be divided between her own children, Charles Knott's children and Elizabeth Knott's children.
      To son Charles Knott, an ox cart now in his possession.
      To son John Knott, the plantation or tract of land on which I now live, and the rest and residue of my estate subject to the payment of all my just debts.
