      Richard Brandt, Will, September 5, 1807; January 19, 1808
      I, Richard Brandt of CC, of sound mind and memory;
      My first will and desire is that my Eldest son Richard Brooke Brandt should take charge of my three last children.
      To two youngest daughters Elizabeth Lucy Ann {Brandt} and Mary Kitty Brandt (when of age), negroes Sofa and Nella. Also 14 blue winzer chairs, 2 tent bedsteads, 2 beds with necessary furniture and 2 borows [sic].
      To my youngest son Richard {Brandt} part of the land I bought of Matthias Byrn and wife, "Market Overton", beginning at a bounded white oak standing on a fork of Pomonkey branch, thence southeast until the surveyor gits opposite to a stake and stone that I had placed by Caleb Vernon and in the presence of serveral other men. Then cross the land I bought of John Dun and Thomas Munroe to a marked Hart cherritree, {several more courses} to the first course of my eldest son's land named Richard Brooke {Brandt}, to a marked sweek gum tree, thence cross the land I bought of William Tyler to a marked oak near the main road that leadeth from Piscataway to Pomonkey warehouse, to him the northeast part of the land I bought of William Tyler, adjoining the land given to my eldest son Richard B. Brandt, and between the land I bought of Matthias Byrn and wife and said main road. Also all the plate now in my house that is marked with the capital letters of his name, one black walnut bedstead and furniture, 1 large and small table, 6 red winzor chairs painted red, 1 desk and side board, and 3 cows and calves.
      To my eldest daughter Ann B. Dent during her life, the use and benefit of two parcels of land that I bought of John Dun and Thomas Monroe that lays southeastward of the abovementioned land to my youngest son and the use of negroes Stephen also called Big Stephen and his wife Hannah. And after her death to her daughters Elizabeth Margaret {Dent} and Mary Ann Dent.
      To two nephews Notley and Richard L. Brandt, 100 dollars each within the year they are of age.
      To eldest son Richard Brooke Brandt, all the different tracts and parcels of land I now posess in Pomonkey Neck, called "Greenwigh", "Brandt's Addition", and "Holly and Gordon Disappointed" and likewise part of three parcels being in a large tract of land called "Market Overton" in the first course which was the dividing line between Mary McPherson and William Tyler. Also 4 negroes that are brothers; Charles, Billy, Little Stephen, and Harry. Also the the residue of my moveable property

      At the request of Richard B. Brandt the following Deposition was recorded September 8, 1808
      State of Maryland, Charles County, to it, on this September 7, 1808 personally appeared before the subscriber a justice of the peace for CC, James Adams Sr., William Adams Sr., Caleb Vernon and Thomas Munroe and made oath that a large stone in red heart cherry tree which they have this day pointed out in the presence of William Monroe, William Rowe, Richard Dement, Nathan Harris and Robert Martin was declared by the late Richard Brandt in their presents to be the boundary of a dividing line between two moieties of land willed his daughter Nancy Dent and his son Richard Brandt. At the same time appeared William Dement and Caleb Vernon and made oath that a Maple sweet gum and a small red oak which they have this day pointed out in the presence of William Monroe, William Rowe, Richard Dement, Robert Martin and George Power was declared by the late Richard Brandt in their presents to be the boundary of a dividing line between the land will is son Richard Brooke Brandt and Richard Brandt.
