      William Brawner's Will.
      I, William Brawner of CC, planter, am in a languishing disorder but of perfect mind and memory.
      To my wife Ann Brawner - all that tract of land that my
      dwelling house stands on, bounded by a tree of Frogg's nest to a locust post standing in an old field between Rodey Maddox's land and mine, during her life, and after her death, to my son Isaac Brawner.
      To my son Basil Brawner - a tract of land called Hazzard.
      To my son Joseph Brawner - all that tract of land called Brawner Chance.
      To my son Mericle Brawner - all the land that I hold on the north side from a line drawn from the 5th bounded tree of Froggs nest to a locust post standing in an old field between Rodey Maddox's land and mine.
      To my daughter Catherine Brawner - 1 Negro girl named Charity and 1 bed and furniture and a cow and calf. To my wife Ann Brawner - one third of my moveable estate during her life, and then that third to be equally divided between all my children.
      I want the two thirds of my estate that has not been mentioned, to be equally divided among all my children. executrix: my wife.

      Probated on Sep 15, 1784 by the executrix and by the oaths of witnesses Samuel Luckett & John Brawner.
      Witness William Kennedy said the name signed is his handwriting, but does not remember anything about the execution of sd will. The heir at law is a minor & therefore not present when the above probates were taken. Ignatius Luckett, one of the witnesses, is since decd. Ann Brawner, the widow of the decd, quitted her claim to the bequests and devises made to her in the will of her sd husband, and elected, in lieu thereof, her dower or third part of the decd's estate.       To grandson, Lewis Brawner, negro Moses, one feather bed and furniture and the first colt my bay mare brings alive.
      To daughter Catharine Brawner, negro Tom, together with all and singular my goods sand chattels, lands, and tenements not heretofore willed during her natural life

So as to cut off singularly and all together my other children so that they have no right title nor claim to the said tract of land called Mean Chance nor no other person or persons whatever but to rest and remain the real right and property of my said son James Mordock.

Aug 8, 1785 from Warren Dent of CC, to Joseph Brawner, for 260 £, all that part of a tract of land called the Remainder, sd part being bounded by a tract of land called Willford in the seisen and possession of Warren Dent afd standing by the head of a branch near Chickamuxon Road, then to 61 acres of land laid off out of a certain Samuel Taylor's part of the original tract called the Remainder to a certain Samuel Gray as by deed from sd Tayler to sd Gray will more at large appear, then to the dividing line between Samuel Taylor and Thomas Davis (the two former proprietors of the tract of land called the Remainder), containing 130 acres. Sd Warren Dent hereby, by virtue of a certain Act of Assembly [see page 94], docks, bars, and destroys all estates tail and limitations with all remainders contingent or vested in the sd part of sd tract of land.
