Gabriel Moran Sr., Will & Codicil, September 20, 1810; March 2, 1811
I, Gabriel Moran of CC, being sick and weak in body, but of perfect mind and memory;
To wife Margaret, the plantation whereon I now live being part of "Boarmans Manor", and "Hard Purchase", during her widowhood. Also negroes Lang, George and Henny, 1 still, 1 pair hand mill stones, apple mill, cyder casks, the choice of two feather beds, bedsteads and furniture, all the kitchen furniture, 1 desk, two arm chairs, 6 flag chairs, 2 looking glasses, 1 small shotgun, all the pewter, earthernware and knives, 1 loom and harness and slays, 4 milk cows, 1 yoke of oxen, 1 cart and boddy, 1 warming pan, 2 ploughs, 1 gear and harrow, 1 wheat fan, 2 trunks, 2 sorrell mares, 1 grey mare and colt, all the weading, hiling and grubbing hoes, 2 spinning wheels, 1 lining wheel and sheckel, all the water vessels, 50 barrels of corn, 20 bushels of wheat, all the tops and blade fodder and husks, 1 sithe, 1 side saddle and bridle, 2 spades, 6 head of sheep, 1 sow and six barrows, all the poultry, to hold during her natural life.
To granddaughter Henny Brightwell, 1 mare colt, 1 side saddle and bridle, 1 bed, bedstead and furniture, 1 loom and sheckel, harness and 2 slays, 1 cow and calf, 1 hiffer, 1 sow and pigs, 3 ewes, 1 spinning wheel, 6 flag chairs, 1 trunk, 1 looking glass, 1 iron pot., 1 dozen queens china plates, 2 dishes, 1 pare pothooks.
To grandson, Gabriel Moran, 1 horse, 1 gun, brass barrel.
To son Luke Moran, part of tract "Four Brothers" 118 acres.
Item: My land by the name of "Warren and Guilbert" 200 acres, be sold by my son Luke Moran or any other of my sons in rotation of age, and the monies arising equally divided between my sons, John P. Moran, Leonard B. Moran, William Moran, Alexander Moran, James Moran and my daughters Susannah Johnson and to the heirs of Rebecca Brightwell dec'd, to the heirs of Mary Instep dec'd, to heirs of Sarah Posey dec'd; and my son James Moran shall pay to my exectutors 52 pounds current money, which he owes me for the purchase of a tract of land from Thomas Contee, and if he neglects or refuses to do so, he shall be excluded of his part of Warren and Guilbert".
To wife Margaret, all my blacksmith tools during her widowhood, afterwards to son Luke Moran.
Item: heirs of Rebecca Brightwell dec'd, Mary Instep dec'd and Sarah Posey dec'd, shall not receive their parts until they come of age. It is my desire that my granddaughter Henny Brightwell shall have 2 parts of Rebeccah Brightwell dec'd part of my estate.
Item: all the personal property willed to my wife during her natural life shall be equally divided between my children; Luke, John, Leonard, James, William, Alexander, Gabriel, Susannah, the heirs of Sarah dec'd, Mary dec'd and Rebeccah dec'd
