pp-467-470: Indenture 24th May 1757 between ROBERT DOYNE of Charles County in
Province of Maryland, Gent., grandson and heir at law of Robert Brent
Senior late of Stafford County, deceased, & GEORGE MASON of Fairfax
County .. Whereas Matthew Thomson late of Stafford County, deceased,
did in his life time by deed dated 23rd April 1689 convey unto Ambrose
Bailey of Stafford County .. a parcel of land in county of Fairfax upon
little Hunting Creek and Dogues run containing 200 acres at that time
being in county of Stafford adjoining to 300 acres sold by said Matthew
Tompson unto Charles Rose .. and Ambrose Bailey did by deed dated
15th January 1693/4 convey said 200 acres unto Robert Brent of Stafford
County .. and whereas said Robert Brent departed this life leaving
only one son named Richard and two daughters named Elizabeth and Ann,
and the son Richard & daughter Ann are since dead without heirs and
Elizabeth .• did intermarry with Jesse Doyne of Charles County in Province
of Maryland (Father of said Robert Doyne party to these presents)
and since is dead leaving Issue two sons of which the said Robert Doyne
is eldest and whereas Matthew Thompson did by deed dated 7th February
1711 convey unto George Mason junior, Gent. (Father of said George
Mason, party to these presents) the remaining part of land on little
Hunting Creek and whereas the 200 acres of land was never· divided
from the larger tract but has always remained in possession of George
Mason & his Father who have always paid the quit rents .. for settling
all difference it hath been agreed that Robert Doyne in consideration
of the sum of Forty five pounds current money of Virginia make a good
Title in fee simple to said 200 acres unto said George Mason •• Now
this Indenture witnesseth that Robert Doyne for sum of Forty five pounds
paid by George Mason doth grant said parcel of land of 200 acres
